How can I do for emulating teacher Van Gogh's brushstroke?

This is what I get with Brushes:Artists-Van Gogh
http://alfe.supereva.it/images/vangogh.jpg

Which parameters do I have to change for making the brushstroke
"similar?"

You probably won't like my answer. You can't depend on some software
to help you paint like Vincent, you can do some things though. I would
set up for a clone, but paint over the Van Gogh with a Impasto brush,
and forget the emulator.

Excuse me but I have little confidence with the English
language and I have probably mistaken to write
"emulator".

I will use your suggestion to use clone and Impasto
brush.

Thanks you

I have little knowledge of the English language and I
have wrong to use the word "emulator".

I will use your suggestion to use clone and Impasto
brush.

Thanks you

Alessio,

You used the word "emulating" properly. I think if you post your
question in the following Painter groups, you may get some help with
creating brushes and using techniques that will more closely emulate Van
Gogh's painting:

Painter list at Topica.com
http://www.topica.com/lists/painter-list/

Painter Can forum at In Depth Discussions
http://www.critical-depth.com/cgi-bin/idd/

You can also do a Clone painting, but that basically duplicates what you
already see in the original painting, automatically, because the Cloners
brush variants take color information from the original image.

If I understand what you asked for, you want to find existing brush
variants, or learn how to create your own custom brush variants, then
learn the techniques to paint in Van Gogh's style working on a blank
Canvas and creating your own painting.

Good luck, and I hope you find the help you're looking for. :o)

Alessio,

I forgot to mention another wonderful site where you can ask your
questions about painting in Van Gogh's style.

http://www.wetcanvas.com

WetCanvas covers both traditional media and digital media. I'd suggest
finding a forum there that covers traditional oil painting, to learn
more about Van Gogh's painting and how others may have learned to
emulate it. Then, check the Digital Art forum to see if anyone there has
suggestions and/or experience they can share with you.

It's a great site and one that's good to bookmark and visit often.

For custom brush creation, the Painter Can forum at In Depth Discussions
is probably the best I know of, though the Painter list at Topica.com
may also be a good resource for experienced painters using Painter.

Please let me know what you find out. It would be good to know that you
got the answers you're looking for, then be able to tell others about
it.

Happy Sunday!
