No mp3 in a 2004 Megane?

I just bought a 2004 Megane.
Great car, but apparently the standard CD-player don't support discs
with mp3-files? Can this really be true, or does the player just need to
be fixed?

Yes, but in 2004 The discs MP3 it isn't well known !
