A nice group met at Wu’s Wonton King at edge of Chinatown last week. We had preordered king crab. Our crab was served 3 ways- half the legs steamed with garlic, other half fried, then fried rice in the carapace
Fried anchovies
Cold jellyfish
Clams
Squid with anchovies
Pea shoots with dried scallop
Lamb chops in black pepper sauce

2008 Bollinger Grand Annee
Others loved, I found a bit ponderous. B

2004 Bollinger Rose
This however was delicious, rich but zesty and zippy, great finish. A-

2010 Fevre Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru
2011 Fevre Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru
If anything I thought the 2010 was a little tauter (not my expectation of vintage), but both were delicious and had classic oystershell meets citrus profile. Diam makes me confident. B+ for both

2008 Lafon Meursault Charmes 1er
Wonderfully complex, vanillin oak over pear, hazelnut, and apple blossom. Loooooonnnggg, bracing. A-

2004 Lafon Volnay Santenots 1er
Nose was somewhat stewed, but no green, just a hint of greenie meanies on palate. But consensus was this was cooked.

2014 Mugneret Gibourg Nuits St George Chaignots 1er
This needs some time, but really good wine, red and black cherry, a touch of cocoa, a little leather. B for now, A- with time.

Great fun in a great outdoor setting.

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
