Hello all,
Trying to find out if Pieroth is still making wines. Used to have a wine
Emissary come to our house to taste Pieroth wines but he went out of
business. Does anyone know if they are still being made?
Particularly liked the Auslese's and Soomlo (spelling?). The Icewiens were
very good but a bit pricey for our blood.
Anyway, if anyone knows anything about the Pieroth wines, please post them
or e-mail me directly.
I tried a net search, but didn't have much luck.

Take the box out of my address to reply.

Thank-you

Pieroth is definitely still in the business, and the door-to-door business at
that.

The quality of the Pieroth offerings (especially compared to the price) is
questionable in many cases, but they do have some "oddities" that are tough to
duplicate elsewhere. They have a red Ausbruch that goes wonderfully with BBQ,
for example. I order a case of this from the local rep each year simply
because it isn't available elsewhere!

I noted you liked the Auslese they offered -- a good wine shop can get you
better at a lower price.

The local rep outfit for Pieroth here in Colorado is called "Vintage Wine
International". Not sure if that's a local name or one that holds across the
country, but if you called here, I'm sure they could find out if there's
someone in your area again.

Pieroth does not import wine anymore, to my knowledge. Somlo Ausbruch is the
name you are looking for. Baum Imports in Chicago was their home base. You
might try reaching them, but I think the company disbanded after the
anti-freeze scandal. You can find very good wines, similiarly priced if you
have a good local wine merchant. If you can't, email me back

Hi. I received a letter from them this week
They are called international wine centre
Dallow Road
Luton
LU1 1UR

The envelope is addressed
Universal house
70 Bilton way
Luton
LU1 1AX
UK

They offer a set of 4 coffee cups and 12 bottles of wine, free!
Just fill in a short survey and return in the envelope provided.
We all know "you don't get owt for nowt" in this life but I can only think, they have my address and just ask for a phone number to arrange delivery ...hmmm are they after peoples private home, mobile and work numbers?
It has been filed, under b1n.

Pieroth called me at work and arranged a wine tasting in my office and then we could order boxes of wine and have them shipped to us.

They served some sweet german white, and some more dry ones from germany, new zealand and france, some sweet red from puglia and a more dry tuscany, and then a rioja which was the most popular one.

I was surprised that they said they were the oldest wine seller in the world and it was their own wine they were selling. I had thought they were just juswt an importer in DEnmark.
