Hello AFW!

I have a full collection or Riedel, blaa blaa blaa, and would like a fine
retailer to contact me at kevinir 'at' hotmail 'dot' com, as I can't find my
favourite glass anywhere. It is a discontinued Riedel water glass. It has
no stem. It isn't the 400/20 or 416/2 or 448/20, and looks like a rounded
old fashion tumbler.

My wife and I have been saving all our caution on the Sommeliers', and we
keep dropping these. I am sure they are 'like' the Vinum series (if not the
Vinum series). If you have an idea where to fine them, or would like to
sell me some, and ship to Canada - please drop me a message.

Thanks in advance, sorry for the "Want Add" post without wine content, but I
have spent a week looking...

"At least he isn't cross posting..." ;-)

Kevin in Canada.

Thanks for the post Elizabeth. Searched the site, and no luck... They have
managed to rip Riedel pics and incorporate them into a web site, but they do
not have the glass in question.
Any other leads?

I guess I know what you mean, I have one at home, presented to the
jury members of a sommelier championship (some 15 years ago) by Claus
Josef Riedel, Georg Riedel's father.

Afaik, this glass has never been included in any of the glass series.
As you might know, Georg and his father do not have the closest
relationship on earth, and some glasses the father had designed were
immediately discontinued after papa Riedel left the firm. I have a
Barolo glass at home that was his design which never made it to the
sommelier series and has been discontinued since.

I fear that the same kind of fate might have happened to your water
glass.

You might try some of the "replacements" sites, the ones who buy estates and
then sell the silver and china and crystal to people like us who need to
fill in for lost or broken items. You can find them in the back of magazines
like "Southern Living" and possibly even "Gourmet" (but I'm not sure about
that one!). I'll try to find a web-site for you.
