I want to become vegetarian. I used to be a big meat eater but going to Whole
Foods I see so many organic/free range type meats. My question, if I go
vegetarian will I still be allowed to eat this? I know I may be able to give
up beef but not chicken or fish but if I can go to free range beef and still be
veggie it would help so much.

Yes, but you won't be a vegetarian once you do.

So you're not really going to go vegetarian anyway.

Nope. Not enough to get the fancy veggie label and all.

(Yeah, a probable troll, especially seeing the multiposting to rec.food.veg,
but I'm bored.)

You seem to want the "label" of vegetarian. If you want to use that label,
then you can't eat meat, free range, or otherwise. If you want to eat free
range meat, then you are making an ethical choice, but you are not a
vegetarian. Why is the label so important? Do what you think is right.

Nope, you have to cut that stuff out. It's really bad for you anyway,
so you might as well. Also it's expensive. If you're really serious
about this, you might want to get hold of a book called "The Food
Revolution" by a guy named John Robbins. It's in paperback. It will
explain why meat is not a healthful food, and many other excellent
reasons not to include it in your diet. It's a very good read, IMO.

Not many vegetarians or vegans started by cutting out everything
in one go. Most start out as vegetarians and slowly become vegan
after realising they only need replace a few animal derived items
from their diet and clothes hangers.

Take it slow. Take a few years if you have to and forget about the
vegetarian label. It's crap and you'll find it's viewed by most as a
political statement rather than a description of your diet. I hardly
mention my diet or lifestyle to anyone outside usenet.

Give up the meat for a month and look at the alternatives available
around your area that easily replaces it. Once you realise you can
live just as happily without it, you'll never be able to go back to it
and I promise you'll never want to.
