Actually, it is about poorly-named "live food", more properly called
raw.
NO food can be "alive", as chewing will kill any living plant, as will
the digestive process.
There is a currently-popular lie, circulating endlessly among raw food
aficionados, that falsely claims food enzymes are "alive", but there is no
science that supports this.
This lie was apparently started ~100 years ago in a silly book by
Howell, called Enzyme Nutrition. Howell was born in 1898, so it
horrendously out-of-date! Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston propagated
this nonsense since the early '70's.

Of course humans should consume raw food for a multiplicity of reasons.
