Here in Monterey, Calif, USA, sushi buffet lunch is $6.50 and dinner
is $13.50. All you can eat. Lunch is usually the same day to day and
dinner is supposed to be chefs choice but its usually the same at Mr
Sushi. How do these prices compare with the rest of the world?
What's included? I've found one sushi buffet lunch place in
Westchester County, NY, which only has rolls (tuna, salmon,
California, and a few veggie). They also have a variety of
cooked food. I think it's 10.95; not sure.
In Manhattan, we used to go to one place that had a very nice
all-you-can-eat sushi dinner for $17.95. Most things were
included (uni wasn't). There was another place that had an
all-inclusive for $21.95, or a more limited selection for $15.95.
Unfortunately, the limited one didn't even include tuna.

Tea, soup, anything the chef wants to put out. Nothing cooked, tho.
Not the fancy stuff, urchin or special orders. sigh. Mostly california
rolls, salmon, tuna, etc. And no lobster! [g]
Sorry - in addition to the sushi toppings, I meant does it
include nigiri sushi, or just rolls? Thanks...

I only saw rolls. Sometimes during lunch there are no-roll items.
Hmm.
Newark, California (East SF Bay) - lunch buffet was $6.95 which had rolls -
California, tuna, cucumber, and one crab-salad thing that I really liked -
and a few nigiris, like tuna, salmon, and plain roe. You also got a salad
bar and soups and teriyaki meats. Not great food by any means but okay for
a cheap fill-up on the things I liked. This was two years ago.
Hanford, California - dinner buffet ranged from $9.95 to $11.95 and $12.95
depending on the night. Started with salmon and tuna nigiri and California
rolls, soups, etc. As you got more expensive on a weekend night they added
hamachi and lobster and such. This place went belly-up before I could try
the more expensive stuff, and if you've heard of Hanford you can guess why.
:)
Cupertino, California - Pacific Breeze has a Sunday brunch buffet for
$10.95 with rolls and American breakfast items. *Wonderful*. But YOMV.
I'm now trying to find a good place in East Contra Costa County.
