Brandied Fruit
1/4 c. brandy
1 small can fruit cocktail
1 T. sugar
pineapple or cherry juice
Mix together brandy and fruit cocktail. Add sugar. Add pineapple or
cherry juice. Place in a glass jar. Add fruit from time to time - no
bananas or peaches. Fruits that can be added are apples, cherries,
fresh or canned grapes.
Add 1 tablespoon sugar each time you add fruit.
Open jar once daily and stir. Always keep lid on jar.
Wait about two weeks before making a cake. Always save 1/4 cup
brandied fruit back for starter.
When you do not want to make a cake for some time, store mix in
refrigerator and do not add any fruits or sugar until ready to make
cakes again. Then start over again.
Cake is better if you wait a few days before cutting.
