(Assuming that this game is like all of the others McDonald's has run, and
"Boardwalk" is the rare piece again...)

Before you post your "I HAVE PARK PLACE - IF YOU HAVE BOARDWALK, WE'LL
SPLIT THE MILLION" message, here's some information about how this game
works.

There are nine "collection" prizes - that is, the nine prizes where you
have to collect a set of pieces (rather than "instant winner" prizes).
According to the official rules, there are 498,270,000 pieces available at
the restaurants, and 89,000,000 pieces to be given away in newspapers. In
order to control how many of each prize is won, the collection prize pieces
are printed so that one of each of the groups is a "rare" piece. The
number of each prize available through collecting groups is:
(Boardwalk/Park Place) $1,000,000 - 1
(Green) $200,000 - 1
(Yellow) Corvette - 2
(Red) Sea-Doo - 3
(Railroads) Chevy Blazer & Sea-Doo - 6
(Orange) Gateway 2000 PC & Big Screen TV - 55
(Violet) Westin Resort Vacation - 90
(Light Blue) Sony Minidisc System - 130
(Baltic/Mediterranean) $5 - 200,000
The number of "rare" pieces in each group is the same as the number of
prizes in that group - so there's 1 Boardwalk, 1 of the rare Green (I
assume Pennsylvania Avenue, since I have Pacific and North Carolina
already), 2 of the rare Yellow, and so on. That means there are 17
different "common" pieces; assuming they appear equally among the
580,000,000 pieces, minus all of the instant winners, that means there are
about 30 million of each "common" piece.

If you do happen to find the "rare" piece for one of the really big prizes,
you have three choices:
(a) Give half of it away to someone with the common pieces;
(b) Go to as many McDonald's as you can and buy as many food items with the
game pieces on them until you find the common piece(s) - even if you have
to buy 500 32-ounce drinks, that's less than $1000 out of your prize;
(c) Wait for people to realize that while it's not worth it for you to give
half of your prize away, it MIGHT be worth, say, $10 to get the common
pieces you need rather than spend, say, $50 before you find the pieces?

If you read in the rules you will see that the collection type
$1,000,000 Boardwalk game piece will be found on Mcd's food packaging
ONLY, and the $1,000,000 instant winner will be found ONLY in newpaper
and direct mail inserts. Happy Hunting. S.R.

I didn't mention that, because depending on the newspaper, the dates
that the inserts will be in local papers vary. I bet most papers that
deliver on the 29th will have the inserts included on that day.S.R.

If you "really" did find Boardwalk, it would be worth your while to
visit Mcd's until you get Park Place but then maybe you don't need a
million dollars. S.R.
