Hi all,

I'm considering installing an outdoor kitchen in my yard using an
outfit called Outdoor Kitchen Concepts.

They have pre-assmbled modules that you can use to create a unique
design.

They offer Calise Barbeque grills as their "default" option. Thing is,
I can't find any independent information about this brand of grill.

I'm wondering if anyone has heard of Calise grills, perhaps have used
their grills, has any opinions on them, etc. etc.??

Thanks,

Rick

I don't suppose you obtained any information about Calise grills? I'm
in the same situation now considering Calise as an option for a grill
but know nothing about them - no ConsumerReports reviews, nothing.

Same for me.

I have been searching high and low for Calise grills and found
nothing. The Grill Islands look great, but has anyone seen their
actual work?

I can't find anything about Calise grills, except that Outdoor Kitchen
Concepts manufactures them in Las Vegas. I would worry a lot about buying a
product with very limited exposure in this country. At some point you will
need a part! It seems to have stainless steel grates from the photo. You
don't want SS grates. SS is a poor conductor of heat. Only cast iron, best
the ones coated with porcelain, work at all.
I also wouldn't buy a gas grill of any kind right this minute. No matter
what the vendor says about BTUs no standard propane grill on the market will
sear a steak with the lid up. They're just not hot enough. When you close
the lid your steak either doesn't char, or it cooks to medium.
The infrared gas grill, with the IR under the grate is about to hit the
market, in many grills, not just the $3000 TEK, or the Viking. It should
heat the grate to 300F or so higher than what we have now.
I'm waiting for the right IR grill to replace my old Weber Genesis B.
Just my 2c.
Good Luck in your search,
Kent

I would consider this. TEC, or Thermal Engineering Corporation, who
developed
infrared heat radiation. Their grills are not cheap; they have a built in
model. I think their primary market is commercial gas grills.
BTW, I still don't see a cast iron grate, though if they are selling to your
local steak house
down the street, I can't imagine that they don't come that way.

I have a calise grill. A friend of mine ordered it and installed it when he redid my patio grill area. It is a nice grill. It gets very hot which is something most can't say. I have had it for 4 years and would recommend it. I think they are more popular on the west coast. I am in NC

I have had a Calise Grill and it has held up very well. It is part of an outdoor kitchen I had built about 5 years ago. I now have to replace the burners which is probably close to the life of the burner elements. I have been most pleased with the grill. The outside looks virtually new if I just polished it up. Would highly recommend them.
