Virtual Weber Bullet's homepage this month has instructions for tri-tip:

Only thing I'd do different is sear first, then barbecue. But I'll try
it this way for comparison's sake.

Actually lived 4 yrs on Wailai Iki Ridge in Honolulu when I was a kid, but
thats it. My dad was Publisher of the Star Bulletin at the time. I know
okole, puka, and 1 or 2 other things but thats it. I'm always lookin for a
way to get those 2 words in a sentence at the same time.

Try this...
MARINADE:
4 Tbsp Whole grain mustard (I use Sierra Nevada's)
4 Tbsp Steak Sauce ( I use A-1)
4 Tbsp Olive Oil
3 Large Cloves of garlic. Mashed, minced and pulverized.
2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar (Not that cheap crap either)
2 Tbsp Finely chopped FRESH rosemary
Wisk together all the marinade ingredients in a small bowl.
Spread the marinade on your roast, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and
refriderate for at least 4 hours.
Let roast assume room temp, season with coarse (kosher) salt and cook
indirect at about 325° until internal temp reaches 120°. If you don't
like rare... go a bit higher.
I don't bother searing.
This recipe can be found on page 108 of "Weber's Big Book Of
Grilling". Only change I made to the recipe is to add the garlic.
I cook in a Kamado and like to use Oak and Hickory with the tri-tip.
