I've already taken your advice. As soon as my Kamado + gas comes in, and
gets plugged into the house gas, my other 3 grills are going up for sale.

Take a look at the kamado cookers at: www.kamado.com for what most say will
be the last bbq, smoking, grilling device you'll ever buy. It'll do all that
you require, including run on natural gas. They're very efficient using
small amounts of lump charcoal, light the coals in minutes using gas, very
controlable temperatures, self cleaning, easy ash removal, great food end
results, and they're cool looking too. Once you get the heavy-ass thing in
place you're good to go for some fine times as near as I can tell. They're
not cheap but right now they happen to be having a Christmas sale on all of
their cookers and accessories for substantial discounts. Take a look at
their newsgroup to check out all of the happy user's comments. If I sound
like I work at Kamado I don't. I'm just a griller/smoker like you and just
went thru this process and ended up ordering up a gas #7 mosaic and I can't
wait to get it.
Dave
Have you not used it yet??? Your rhetoric sounds like most
kamado addicts. I'm a little concerned that it appears you
have just ordered it and are not using it, yet you are
raving bout it. Lois Cohen where are you???

Kamado addicts? WTH is that supposed to mean?

Please point out each assertion in Dave's post that would require
first-hand, hands-on experience with a Kamado. All I see there are
easily verifiable facts and conclusions that one might draw without
ever having used a Kamado.

Lift your tongue off the keyboard and you won't have that problem of
repeating characterssssssss in your postsssssss.
Oh, you meant to do that? Okay. Then you ought to google on a guy
named John Winston. He does that sort of thing, too, with words like
G*d, and Mar*ian, and sp*c* tr*v*l.
Of course, he also believes that many people on Earth are descended
from reptilian ancestors who arrived here from another planet, but
that doesn't mean you two don't still have a lot in common.

I ought to get a different newsreader. When this newsreader retrieved
the original post, all I got was the following:
"I use three BBQ's - NB for briskets, PPork, smoking, Weber Dome for
turkeys, prime ribs and roasts and a propane Weber for my everyday
dinner "cook it quick" dinner. I am moving to a new house with a gas
stub on the patio - NO MORE PROPANE BOTTLES. I am looking to replace
my gasser - what is your opinion and why?"
DAMN THIS NEWSREADER. It completely cut off the part where he said he
only wanted to hear individual user criticisms and comments from
people who had used a Kamado.
Sorry. I meant to say K***************do.
>It's probably a good thing that you do bottom post.
If by "a good thing" you mean that people are less likely to think I'm
rude and inconsiderate, then I'd have to agree.
You don't think I'm rude and inconsiderate, do you? Because I'm
feeling a little fragile right now, and it wouldn't help to know that
you think I'm rude and inconsiderate, what with us being friends and
all.

Far as I can tell, those of us with average or better reading skills
didn't take your post that way.

I would've found your post helpful if I were a first-time buyer.

Good point about the guarantee. Another side note about the guarantee:
If you think you might take Kamado up on it, be careful to unpack the
crate in such a way that you can ship the K back to them in one piece.
I believe the guarantee requires you to ship it back in the original
crating. (No, uncrating it without damaging the crating wouldn't be
easy.)

Ah, but that wasn't just anyone. That was Kent H. <kh6...@attbi.com>.
He needs a new hobby.
I say this because he is my friend.

I was in the same place you are a couple of years ago. Had a NB Bandera,
Weber kettle, and a cheap gas grill. Used them for exactly the same things
you mentioned. All stopped when I got my Kamado #7 a little over a year
ago. Sold my Bandera, use the cheapo gas grill as a way to keep things warm
(sauces, already cooked sates, etc.), and the Weber is where I start the
chimney. The only other thing I bought is a Kamado #3 for doing dinner for
the four of us (steaks, chicken, chops, etc.). Couldn't recommend them
highly enough (and I don't even have the gas option).
