Stove top. Electric woks don't really get hot enough, and are non-stick,
which militates against the little burnt bits you get from cast iron or
spun steel woks.
Gas heat is better than electric, too, in that it is more instantly
controllable.
My favorite wok is a Chinese cast iron one.
