It's mostly parking lots. That scheme seems to work well, because people
appreciate being to able to park their automobiles close to airports. At
least, people leaving on outbound flights and picking up passengers from
inbound flights appreciate it. I think most other people don't care one way
or the other.

At small airports, it's mostly golf courses. The airports usually have
rules about turning quickly after takeoff to minimize noise over the links.
I once took a ride with a grizzled instructor, and started to turn as soon
as I was clear of the runway. He took over, straightened out, and eased the
stick forward, saying "Fuckem. They don't care if you crash. Do you care
if they miss their putt?"
