Litter lout
When rock stars, particularly of the American variety, come on tour,
they invariably fax ahead details of the little (and not so little)
luxuries they require the concert sponsors to provide for their
delectation. The list usually includes exotic brands of American
liquors and candies (sweeties to us) not usually available at the
Co-op, Templeton's, or even Galbraith's.
When Marilyn Manson, the gothic horror turn, was at the Gig on the
Green last weekend, the list of required goodies was as bizarre as
ever. One of the items was a large quantity of cat litter, which
surprised the organisers since Mr Marilyn didn't have a cat with him.
It transpired that Mr Marilyn isn't too fond of portable johns as
supplied at outdoor events, and preferred to find relief as the
moggies do. And, before any of you mad goths out there ask, no, none
of the Manson cat litter was kept for souvenirs.
===end===
The only references I could find to kitty litter were on "I hate
Marilyn Manson because..." pages.

Well he had to do something after he left 'The Wonder Years'.
You're saying that Marilyn Manson is actually Daniel Stern?
Bob "similar voice, now that you mention it" Beck
This makes more sense than the usual urban legend, that Manson is
the kid who played Kevin's friend Paul (Josh Saviano).

Isn't that the "Alice Cooper was [whatshisname] from Leave it to
Beaver" legend with different faces?
Ken Osmond, neither Alice Cooper or John Holmes, was never married to
Barbara Billingsly, and not an outcast from the singing Osmond family.
He liked the rock star rumor but the porn star story was no fun.
It's interesting how these stories get started and then mutate, like
the Alice Cooper/Frank Zappa gross-out contest.
I was a *big* Alice Cooper fan (memorized the 'Killer' album) and had
the fantastic experience of meeting him at a soldout show in '72. He
gave us tickets to get in and seemed like a very nice guy. The
assimilation from Alice Cooper to Marilyn Manson is obvious. Although
the Marilyn Manson "gross-out" contest seems to be a central theme at
his concerts. The music is interesting but the lyrics are too dark
for me. Marilyn was on the "O'Reilly Factor" last week and he is
definitely a strange dude. He side-stepped the link to Anton Lavey
saying that he enjoyed the writings of a particular author. I'm
surprised O'Reilly didn't press him further on that. From the
interview it's clear that Marilyn doesn't get outside much. Maybe he
should take up golfing.

"Just because Josh Saviano is not the same name as Brian Warner and they
are different ages and Josh Saviano is currently attending Yale does not
mean he isn't Marilyn Manson"
exactly. even if it isn't true, it is.

Pretty much *everything* about Marilyn Manson is just Alice Cooper redux.
Let's hope that Marilyn get to go on to host his own celebrity golf
tournament.

I read somewhere that Alice Cooper listens to nothing
but easy listening music when he is at home... maybe he will
start a lounge act in his old age...

Well, if it worked for David Lee Roth...

Marilyn Manson is from Canton, Ohio. He lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a
time after he was an established pop star. I don't think he ever lived
in Miami, let alone was "from" Miami.
Maggie "no Brian Warner" Newman
You're quite mistaken. The band formed in Ft. Lauderdale after Brian "Marilyn
Manson" Warner -- *originally* from Canton, OH, but living in Boca Raton at the
time -- met guitarist Scott "Daisy Berkowitz" Putesky in college, and remained
in the South Florida area from the late eighties until the band relocated to LA
around 1994.
