Of all the saints in the Roman Catholic Church, I doubt if any of them
had better credentials or qualifications for sainthood than Pope John
XXIII.
<
In a nutshell, when all hope was gone for two Pennsylvania coal miners
entombed more than 300 feet underground in 1963, he showed up -- they
both saw him -- and then engineered the miracle (with a little help
from The Man Above) that resulted in their dramatic rescue
<
Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli -- his birth name -- had died in a hospital
in Rome some 10 weeks BEFORE the mine accident almost half a
world away. But there he was, about half the age he was when
he died at age 81, grinning at David Fellin and Hank Throne, the
doomed souls.

After all, both miners were interviewed independently by both the
Associated Press and The U.S. Navy Survival Team from Bethesda, Md.,
on the very day they were rescued and confirmed that the Pope suddenly
appeared to them remained with them for at least 10 days
until they were pulled to the surface wearing parachute harnesses and
football helmets in an event that commanded the front-page headline
in newspapers worldwide.
<
The mine cave-in and miraculous rescue -- after 14 days underground --
took place almost 50 years ago and STILL the Catholic Church is
sitting on its Holy Duff, delaying what should've been done decades
ago.
<
As for Pope John XXIII, I can assure you that he doesn't give two
shits whether he's officially canonized a saint. This only goes to
give you some idea of his TREMENDOUS HUMILITY.

AND THIS IS WHAT TREMENDOUS HUMILITY LOOKS LIKE . . .
