Welcome to alt.folklore.urban. 'Newbie' is not an insult, it
just means you're new here. This group has an established set
of customs and attempts to demonstrate high standards for
entertainment and literacy. A style-guide is posted monthly and
you can find a copy on the web at the URLs shown at the foot of
this post.
If you're not a newbie
----------------------
AFU is not a game of whack-a-mole. If we don't get any newbies
we have nothing to do except talk about urban legends and you know
how boring that can be. Be nice to them unless they're rude to
us first and if you're moved to flame someone attempt to do it
with at least a modicum of style. If they've missed the monthly
style-guide posting the most recent one can be found on the web at
