The story I heard was that Jamie Lee Curtis was born an hermaphrodite(sp)
and that an operation was performed on the newborn to make it a woman. I
was given proof of this by the person who told me this, he showed me how broad
her shoulders were...CASE CLOSED!

You must mean "Love Letters". I saw clips of the love scenes of that film
with Madonna's "Material Girl" song. A real laugh riot. I'm told that the
file is mostly Jamie Lee getting laid.

So you want to know how to determine the sex of the person without
examining the plumbing, and don't have access to their genetic material?
Here are a few.

A woman will not have a prominent Adam's apple (larnyx).
(I guess Eve gave her apple to Adam so he could eat it. (Sorry).

Also, a man's thighs will be wider than his hips, a woman's hips will be
wider than her thighs.

Men's arm's are longer in proportion to their bodies than women's, although
that's a judgement call.

I heard the same rumor about JLC. I was told that she's a hermaphrodite, and
that it was obvious because she has such a large jaw she must have male
hormones. Sounds like a classic UL to me.

Not much. In the 70's I saw a segment of the Tonight Show and Johnny
Carson asked Olivia 'straight' out if what we hear is true about her liking
women. She said that it was true. I think around that same time, she was
not trying to conceal her relationship with her female lover.

A dead cert. is to look at the second and third fingers (or the two middle
fingers - not including the thumb, obviously) on either hand. For females,
these two fingers are of approximately the same length, whereas for males,
the third finger is noticeably shorter than the second.

I can just see you all checking your own fingers right now ...

erm, i am QUITE DEFINITELY female, and the two fingers mentioned on my hands
are of different legnths.

also, the bit about the hips and thighs mentioned earier is only accurate if
the person is in great shape. some women are apt to put on weight at the top
of the thigh... nickanamed "saddlebags". hence their thighs will be a bit
wider than their hips.

the bit about the adam's apple is getting closer. if someone's adam's apple
sticks out they are quite definitely male. but not all men, particularly
men who are slightly overweight, have protruding voice boxes.

in short, to heck with it. 8-)

Her ring finger is much shorter than her middle finger. Another urban myth

Actually, this won't work. I believe that it's the index and ring
fingers which have sex-linked lengths, and it's not foolproof. (about
10-20% of the population has the wrong hands, according to this theory)

Here's the REAL scoop (according to a coworker of mine):

The middle finger is always the longest for both men and women. The
fingers which really vary are the index finger and the ring finger of
each hand.

Comparing the INDEX finger to the RING finger, in females a dominant
trait is to have the index finger be longer than the ring finger; in
males, it is a dominant trait to have the ring finger be longer than the
index. I confirmed it by looking at her hands as well as my own, so it
can't be wrong!!!

Olivia Newton John is married to Matt Lattanzi, a very attractive
American actor who is about 10 years younger than Olivia. They
have been married for several years and have at least one child.

By the way, though I had heard rumors about the sexual preferences
of most of the female celebrities mentioned in this thread, this
was the FIRST place I'd ever heard any such rumors about Ms.
Newton-John. For what it's worth, Kim Novak was most notorious
for having an affair with Sammy Davis Jr. back in the early 60's
when interracial relationships were still considered scandalous.
I believe someone at a movie studio spread the rumor that she
was a lesbian -- also very scandalous in those days -- to
subject her to more abuse after she'd been harassed and threatened
about her relationship with Davis already.

Jamie Lee Curtis is married to Christopher Guest of "This Is
Spinal Tap" fame, and also has at least one child.

So many rumors, so little time ... :-)

No, you're right. It doesn't prove anything. I personally know of someone
who is a gay female who has gone the route of artificial insemination in order
to have a child. Now she and her mate are parents. So, what exactly does this
prove? It proves that you can't determine a persons sexual preference by the
fact that they have children!
