Hi,
I am new to the news group so I thought I'd start with a story about the
house I am living in now (which is the first one I've ever lived in or had the
experiences I have ever had).
Things don't happen too much, at least anymore. They just let me know they
are still around from time to time. My home is 50 years old (built in 1947 to
be exact). For those in Jacksonville, Florida, Landon Middle School of the
Arts is named after the ancestor of the origanal owners. Three people have
died here (actually went to the hospital and died within a few days after being
sick for awhile). There was a family member that lived in a house behind ours,
that he and his 3 children and 3 step children died in a fire, that seems to be
quite remembered by those who are veteran firefighters. So, different
activities have been blamed to a different one of the above mentioned. The
living family live around here and are friends...so there is much insight to
who and why things have happened.
The most recent thing has had to be a couple of days ago. I have had an
absessed tooth for a couple of weeks and the medicine hasn't healed it but has
wiped me out physically. I was laying in bed taking a nap with my arm under
the pillow with my hand out above the pillow...when I woke up, that hand for no
reason was ice cold. Not ice cold like you feel when holding an ice cube, but
when you touch your face, you hand is cold. The wrist was warm.... This is
the second time this has happened, but to a lessor degree - I believe it was
the origanal woman (Victoria) of the home who I felt has taken to me (that's
another story too) and letting me know she's there for me.
The funniest has to be with my husband, who doesn't believe in ghosts, which
makes this so funny, at least to me. One night I was by myself watching TV and
about 2 a.m. I heard someone walk from our kitchen through the dinning room to
look out the picture window. From where I was sitting I turned around to see
who it was. No one. Looked at the clock and thought, "I better get to bed, if
I can." Well, the next night I was sound asleep (having gotten only a few
hours sleep the night before), when I woke up. My husband was nowhere and
there was not the regular sounds or lights on for when he gets up during the
night. I called for him. He didn't answer. Finally he made it to our room
with a gun in his hand. He said he heard someone in the house, too big for the
boys (our children who were about 12 and 14 at the time - skinny boys). He
insisted someone had broken in but found no point of entry, all doors locked,
.... He was upset. I asked him what made him think that some one had broken
in. You guessed it. He heard the exact thing I heard the night before.
Knowing he doesn't believe in ghosts, I told him I heard it the night before
and it was only the boards creaking. He got madder. No, someone had walked
inbetween the kitchen and dinning room to the picture window... I told him
then it was Jane's grandmother (Victoria), which he got mad, said there is no
such thing as ghosts and so forth. He stayed upset for a few days about it
because he couldn't explain it and I guess felt unprotective. And no, we
haven't heard the noise again.
Well, there is other stuff, but this should be enough for now, that's if
anyone wants to hear....
Marleen
P.S. I enjoy everyone's stories and input!
