How 'bout the boys and the spiked hair with parachute pants or the looooong
hair black t-shirt black jeans with the high tops with the tongue out. The
girls with the tightest jordache or the two color socks stacked inside high
top rebooks? People walking with the BIG boom box on their shoulder listing
to Run DMC. First kiss--- Kim in 5th grade. First teacher love---- Mrs.
Bowman 4th grade--- first teacher hate--- Mrs. Badrosian 6th grade. It's
amazing how much you remember from back then.

That list brings back so much. I just turned thirty but all of that seems like
just yesterday. I so remember arguing with my mother about all of the weird
things I wore during my Cyndi Lauper phase : )

Oh but yes! I haven't thought about this stuff in years. I can't
believe that I actually wore my jeans rolled up with two pairs of
different colored socks and my hightops. With of course the big stiff
as a board hair. Oh my! What in the hell were we thinking!!!!

PS I still watch Dukes of Hazzard re-runs!

Be advised that in the South, "He needed killin' " is a valid legal
defense.

TOO GOOD!

When I read this list, I was sitting here listening to Men without Hats
and thinking of putting in some Honeymoon Suite. I still remember
getting angry at my parents when I was 17 because I wanted to wear a
miniskirt with geometric shapes and a Madonna see through lace tank top
with only my bra under it to church! I thought I was being generous. I
had every intention later that night of going out and flipping off the
bra... but the whole idea was nixed by my dad. :( I am STILL bummin'
over that... LOL :-)

Bending over to pick up the Porchemon card she thought she'd dropped,
she discovered she hadn't dropped it at all. "Why Uri, I didn't drop
anything...you sly old fox!"

I graduated H.S. in '81, but that doesn't mean I didn't do alot
of 'growing up' in the '80s.

I remember finding my 'look' with Topsiders (without socks), Levi's 501
button-fly jeans, and polo shirts. I never did turn up the collars
tho. I also like the high-heel shoes like the kind in the ZZ-TOP
video 'Legs', that the ladies use to wear then. They were much more
attractive than those chunky-clunkies that women wear now.

Things I remember about the '80s:
Music: The Jam (That's Entertainment), The English Beat (Save it for
later), The Boomtown Rats (I don't like Mondays'), Oingo Boingo (Dead
Man's party), The The (This is the day), Big Country(Fields of Fire)

Movies:
Conan the barbarian, Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn, Raiders of the Lost
Ark, Ghostbusters, Poltergeist, Dune, Batman, Alien, Close Encounters,
E.T., Flashdance, St. Elmo's Fire, Uncle Buck, The Breakfast Club,
Valley Girl (Lots of good music in that one), Stripes, American
Werewolf in London, The Goonies, DragonSlayer, Back to the Future,
BeetleJuice, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc.

TV:
Star Trek: The Next Generation, 21 Jump Street, VOLTRON, StarBlazers,
BattleStar Galactica, Night Court, Cheers, Family Ties, Miami Vice,
Magnum P.I., M*A*S*H, Amazing Stories, The New Twilight Zone, Quantum
Leap, Dr. Who, Greatest American Hero, Rippley's Believe it or Not!, In
Search Of...,

Events:
The Challenger space shuttle explodes; Pres. Reagan gets shot;
Geraldine Farrarow runs for V.P.; The Berlin Wall comes down; Grenada;
The assasination of John Lennon; The wedding of Charles and Di; John
Belushi O.D.s; Hands Across America; The Air traffic Controller's
Strike; The SONY Walkman, Compact Discs, and VHS are all introduced;

I also remember:
Video games: TRON, Joust, Pac-Man (mrs too!), Dragon's Lair, Gorf,
Space Invaders, Spy Hunt, Tempest, Defender,
Odd and Ends:
Trivial Persuit board game, "IRAN Still Sucks","I FOUND IT!", and "Baby
on Board" bumper stickers. OPUS and Bill the Cat from Bloom County.

Talk about the ghost of christmas past! <--That's just to keep this
thread on-topic };)

Look at what's happened to me-,
I can't believe it myself.
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
It should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

It's like a light of a new day-,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true-.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.
Who could it be?

I've seen all of them, but I though Dragonball came out in the early 90's.

Curse of the Blood Rubies (1986) is the original movie that began the
Dragon Ball series. You are right the first Dragonball Z movie was
released in 1990 and the "Z" series came after that.

I believe "Grave of the Fireflies" was THE SADDEST movie I ever watched.
Recommended for anyone who likes to cry alot watching a movie.
