A little while back (I only thought a couple days ago, but I can't find it now)
I saw some discussion about Bloody Mary, the witch that, modern legend has it,
shows up in the mirror when you call her. I thought I'd just let you know that
there's an article on our website about the different variations in the story
as well as possible explanations of where the story came from.
The address is:
http://www.mythology.com/bloodymary.html
And there are other articles there too of course. Check it out if you want to.
If not, well, nevermind.

Bloody Mary *isn't* a witch but she *did* live a long time ago. i posted
a lot of information on this ng a while back, maybe you could track it
down by using deja news (something like that..)

In many cases she is explained in the stories as having been a witch. I was
trying to come up with a generic way of describing her without using a name
(since the name and other details vary wildly from version to version).
As far as the living a long time ago thing goes... Bloody Mary, the queen of
England, did live a long time ago. Bloody Mary, the figure in folktales
reported to show up in mirrors, has not been conclusively linked to any
historical figure.

I actually did a thorough search of deja news and most major search engines
looking for additional information I may have missed before I wrote the
article. It's pretty thorough. You should check it out and let me know what you
think.

Char
Mythology Web (http://www.mythology.com) will continue to have new articles
periodically, so you could check it out periodically to see what there.
There's also a mailing list you can sign up for that sends site announcements
and can be used for discussing related topics.
Ghostlore, while not a primary focus, will come up now and then I'm sure. A
Vanishing Hitchhiker article is already in the works, but that's probably at
least a couple months away.
Thanks for your interest,
Candace
