Well, here's more of my adventures at 13 Stairs cemetery.

Sometime after the last big incident at 13 stairs, on another one of our
fairly regular trips, we had another somewhat strange occurrence, although
this time it was a good one. My Friend J had actually injured his leg
earlier that day and was barely able to walk (don't ask me why we thought it
was a good idea to go out there anyway). Some background on the injury real
quick... a few years back he tore his achilles tendon, I forget how, but
then they had to tie it back together with a nylon deal. There was a bump
down in his tendon where the nylon tie-up had been done that you could feel.
Earlier that day he had been screwing around and felt it snap and could no
longer feel the bump from the nylon. For the entire day he had barely been
able to put any weight on that foot. Being the geniuses that we were at the
time, we decided we'd make a trip to 13 stairs anyway. While we were out at
the cemetery it felt quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, which is quite strange
for that place. It has happened other times, before and after that, but it
is pretty rare. While we were out there, J sat down on one of the
gravestones to rest his ankle. As he sat there, his ankle stopped hurting
and within 10 minutes or so he was pain free and able to walk, run, jump,
and whatever else he felt like with no pain, and the bump where his tendon
had been tied was back as it was before.

Another time, I don't remember when in the timeline this was very well...
must've been 1998, as opposed to 1996 for the last two. We had been going
out there more or less weekly for the last couple years, other than
occasional trips to other cemeteries on ghost hunting night, or sometimes in
the winter when it was just too cold to go tromping through cemeteries in
the middle of the night. Anyway, this night we went out and managed to get
a couple EVP's. The first one was the most disturbing, it sounded like an
old man's raspy cackle... sort of like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons, "heh heh
hehheh heh". The other was a loud, strange, screeching sound. It's
possible that it was a wild animal, such as an owl, and we just didn't
notice it. If anyone wants to hear either of these, feel free to send me an
e-mail jmichalicek(at)hotmail.com, replace the (at) with @, of course, just
protecting from programs going through gathering e-mail addresses.

Another trip out to 13 stairs, this time it was summer of 2000. We were
walking around in the cemetery when all the sudden something came charging
through the trees at us. We couldn't see it, so it's possible it was a deer
or something, but it made no other noise, we could see nothing, and most
animals run away from people, not towards them. We promptly headed for the
exit, not waiting to see what it was that was charging at us. Not much else
to tell on that one, but it sure gave us a scare.

Got one more big one from this place that I will tell you later tonight or
tomorrow, probably.

As of 2 days ago though, the other guy is alive an well and still a good
friend of mine. After it disappeared, it tugged blankets and scratched
walls for the night, but other than that, nothing else happened. No harm,
no super scary stuff, nothing. Apparently it was just a spirit having some
fun with us or perhaps trying to scare us into not going back there.

Have you tried to take any photos, video, or EVP at this place? It might
produce some really great results.

Yep, got a couple evp's there. We've taken several picture, but got nothing
that was solid enough for me. There was one picture where it looked like
there was a house in the middle of the cemetery, and if you go there, there
is a sort of outline in the grass, right where the house was, but the
picture was so dark I couldn't be sure enough to get all excited. I do have
an excellent picture we got at a different cemetery though, that I will post
soon... you need a quality monitor with very good color definition to see it
clearly, so many people don't see anything, but people with a trinitron,
samsun ift, or the likes can see it quite clearly. I can put the evp's up
though if anyone likes... perhaps I'll stick em on the web for a few days,
or feel free to e-mail me a jmich...@hotmail.com and I can e-mail them to
you.

I've found through trial and error that I get better pictures if it's during or
near a new or full moon, lunar eclipse, or solar storm. Anything that effects
the earth's electromagnetic field. That's cool that you've documented this
stuff....hey! maybe a book in the future? Who knows?

Evp's are awesome! You can get soooo much more stuff with them than you can get
on film, and usually photos mostly show anomalies when taken at night, but
evp's can be done during the day as well. I got some good ones this past
October in Salem, Mass. A very clear one in one of the old historical
cemeteries, and a creepy one at gallows hill.<shivers>

what creeping one did you get in Salem? I live in Peabody which is the next
city over. I've done alot of the tourist stuff when I was little but now we
only venture into Salem occasionally now. Most people who live around here
hate Salem. It' too congested

Yeah, the population is Salem has really gone up in recent years. I think a lot
of people are leaving the Boston area for the "quaint little village" life.

I got some fantastic stuff at the Howard Street Cemetery. For anyone reading
who doesn't know about this cemetery, it was the site where Giles Corey was
pressed to death during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, and directly across the
street is the site where the dungeons stood during the trials. Directly next
door is the abandoned old Salem Jail, which was closed due to inhumane
conditions. The Boston Strangler had a brief stay there. Anyway:

I've taken several photos in the cemetery over a few years, and I've gotten
some _amazing_ photos of orbs and ectoplasm. On one occasion, we actually
started to feel very ill while in this place. When I went this past October, it
was raining pretty good, so taking photos was kind of risky. I walked around
with my recorder instead, and got a woman screaming on tape. It seems as if she
was saying," No! Oh, no, please, no! Ouch!" You can literally feel the
negativity in the place, especially standing next to the jail. It is very
unsettling.

I got some interesting stuff up at Gallows Hill Park as well. One photo of
ectoplasm, and an evp of someone saying _very_ faintly, "Help.....". The
ghosties hang out in the area behind the baseball field, by the way. A lot of
people don't know this, so if you ever go there to ghost hunt, that's the area
to try. :)

Another location I got some neat photos at was the Joshua Ward House. Got what
appears to be a "phantom" head looking out the window.

Funny thing about Salem, as much as I love the town, and all the historical
homes and such, there seems to be a weird energy there. It seems to envelope
the town like a dark cloud.

Are you near or in MA? I'd like to tell you something about the place that
work. It's an old mansion built in the early 1900's I think. Many people
that work there have stories of weird things that have happened to them. i
have a few but nothing really that big. If I have to work on a weekend
alone I get real creeped out being there. I've been scared enough to leave
at times. I think it would be cool to have someone look at the place but
the owner tells everyone that mentions ghosts that "there is no such thing
as ghosts". I know at least one person died in the driveway.

Unfortunately, I moved to PA several years ago. Sigh.. I miss Mass! But I go
back to visit practically every year! :)

I know a woman by the name of Mollie Stewart who lives in and runs a business
in Salem called Spellbound Tours. She is a paranormal investigator, as well as
a parapsychologist. She's written a book or two, and is quite an expert on this
sort of thing. She might be very interested in your story, and she has the
get-go to follow it up and investigate. She does investigations all over the
place. I'll give you a link to her website. It sounds like something she'd
probably love to handle.
