Sorry about the glitchez earlier with this story... here it goes again!
I came across this story in one of those little books that stare at you
while waiting for a clerk to ring your groceries up. by Globe Mini
Mag Nos: 1507/270 by Merlin Jones, copy right 1995 anyhow here goes...
"Chicago and its suburbs are so rich in the lore of the supernatural that
for years the Windy City has supported its own mini-business in ghost
hunting and tours of haunted houses, cemeteries and other locations where
spirits are said to linger. Although serveral self-trained
parapsychologist, folklorist and chroniclers of the supernatural have
entered the business, the first and foremost is Richard Crowe.

And one of the ghostly hot sopts that Crowe has found most intriguing is
the old Schweppe Mansion in the far north Chicago suburb of Lake Forest.
The hugh brick and stone English Tudor mansion, constructed on a 90 foot
bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, was empty for 46 years after the tragic
suicide of its onwer before it was purchased by a Chicago couple in 1987
for $5.5 milliond and remodled to become a home for them and their five
children.

During its years of adbandonment, the old brick and stone struction,
erected in 1913 as a wedding gift to Laura Shedd and Charles H. Schweppe
by the bride's father, had earned a local reputation for inexplicable
ghostly happenings. Its hallways and roms, including 20 bedrooms and 18
bathrooms, were said to be the site of curious supernatural occurrences.
