ghost photo's ?

I had an experience with a "ghost" photo that I thought you all might
find interesting..

In the 60's, my aunt showed me a photo she had taken of her daughter
Debbie. The photo was taken in the bathroom. (I don't recall why)
There were mirrors covering the entire space above the sink but they
would have been behind my aunt as she took the photo. Behind Debbie was
my other cousin Tim who was hiding behind her so that he wouldn't be
seen in the photo.

The extraordinary thing is that Debbie is absolutely transparent in the
photo and Tim is clearly visable! She looks exactly like a ghost! It
is amazing!
Other pictures on the roll were unremarkable. I honestly don't recall
the lighting but my aunt probably used a flash bulb..In the 60's my
aunt's camera would have not been anything out of the ordinary.

Over the years I have thought about that extraordinary picture and
wondered what became of it after my aunt's death. It has also given me
a healthy suspecion of "ghost" pictures. If my aunt some how accidently
made my cousin transparent, it would be easily done with today's
sophisticated equipment!

Yep, once you see one of those photo's you never look at "ghost" photos
quite the same way do you?

Same sort of thing happened to me, well my mum. When I was about 3 years
old, I was with my 3 year old cousin one day, and my mum took a photo of
the 2 of us. In the photo, I turned out fine, but my cousin who was
standing next to me at the time, was transparent, and you could clearly
see the house behind her. It was very spooky. I still have that
photograph.

One of two things might have hapened here. 1: the "transparent" effect might
simply be the result of an "Illusion" of reflection of light off of the
mirrors--That is an irregular, bright reflection might have partially covered
the "transparent" person and shown on the walls on either sideof the person
also--thus making it appear that one was looking through the person and seeing
"background shapes". 2: in cases where actual objects can be seen "Through"
the image of a person, the explaination is easy--note these were seen on older
photographs. The person simply quickly moved out of position at the critical
moment when the camera shutter was open. Thus They photographed fairly well
during the split second that they were still, but background objects also
photographed when the person moved out of the way--or vice versa.
Trust only "Ghost photos" that you take YOURSELF--and even then KNOW what
you are doing, and what kind of "mistakes" YOU can make.
