Does anyone here know about the ghost of Uniondale in South Africa.
Apparently it is a female ghost that appears in your car at night while you
are driving on the road where she was killed many years back.
I am doing family research on the Roux surname and have been told that this
ghost was a Roux family member. I want to get the real story to publish as
an interesting Roux family titbit on the Roux family Website I am currently
working on.
Any information or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have any information. I'd like to wish you luck with your investigation.
It'd be interesting to know what you find out.

I can't member all the stories I have heard about this ghost. mostly I can
only remember bits and pieces.
As far as I know she only appears one night a year. The date has
unfortunately slipped my mind, but I can find out. it is somewhere end
November or beginning December...
Apparently it a couple travelling together in a car and the girl asleep when
that had an accident. Both where killed instantly. As she was sleeping she
don't know that they were both killed and she is to this day looking for her
husband/ fiancé...
You might see her standing alongside the road on that specific night, and
being the kindly soul that you are you will pick this lonesome girl up to
take her to the nearest town. She wont say anything to you, and at some
point you will just see the car door open and close and then she will be
gone...
You might also miss seeing her next to the road, but never fear, she will
help herself to a lift. Almost always in the back seat behind you. You will
only feel the cold wind when she opens the door, see her and before you can
react, she will disappear again.
Or you can be one of the lucky ones on a motorcycle that gets a unexpected
passenger...
As I said, there are many stories about her, but I suppose if you want the
real thing , go to CNA and check out a book on ghost stories in SA, or you
can drive the Uniondale road yourself...
Good luck I hope this helps
Martiens
Dear Martiens,
Unfortunately, this is a variation on an old urban legend. My mom told
me the same type of story when I was a kid: Man driving along at night
picks up a woman in a formal dress. She gives him an address, and the
man takes her there, only to find out that it's the local cemetary! (It
scared the crap out of me when I was a kid!!)
Cheers!
