I've enjoyed reading all of your stories. Thanks! It's time to return the
favor
and tell my own true ghost story.

About three years, I became interested in parapsychology, ghosts, magic,
etc. I joined the American Society of Psychical Research (ASPR) and did
lots of reading. I even put an ad in the personals section of the local
paper
and visited with several people that had experienced "spooky" things in
their homes (good stories there, too!).

Anyway, one afternoon I read a book on magic and spell-casting and sort of
loosely read aloud some of the spells (some of which involved raising
spirits).
That night, after I had been asleep awhile, I awoke with a feeling of
dread. My
eyes were open but my body was paralyzed. I felt "something evil" in the
closet
next to my bed and I felt that it was trying to pull me in. My head was
facing
in the other direction but, using all of my willpower, I managed to slowly
turn
my face towards the closet and once I did, the "evil" stopped and I was
"free".
I rationalized it all away by saying that it was just a dream.

That morning when I woke up, I walked into the bathroom, "did my
business",
and then turned towards my bathroom mirror. To my TOTAL shock, I found
that
I had three long red "scratch marks" on my chest. They were sort of
arranged
like Neptune's Trident facing up. Each was about eight inches long. The
marks
even looked like they were slightly raised. The marks had almost
disappeared
by lunchtime and were gone by that evening. I "assume" that I did it to
myself
with my fingernails but the marks were so symmetrical that I would have
trouble doing it to myself even while wide awake. I'm angry with myself
for not
getting a picture of it. I bought a Polaroid camera about a week later,
just in
case.

Needless to say, the whole thing scared the jeepers out of me and I
promised
myself that I wouldn't do that again. I've gotten interested again after
reading
everybody else's stories but I'll be more "careful" this time!!

This is not as uncommon as one would think (or hope). Last year I had
a long and messy encounter with a poltergeist. The psychic/exorcist that aided
me in getting rid of him warned me of this phenomena before the actual
banishing. After it was over, I noticed 2 long bledding scratches running down
her left arm, and I had been given 2 black eyes by the poltergeist before he
finally left. And mine did
not go away in a few hours....so consider yourself lucky to be around and
unharmed! Raven Wolf Delaval
