I found one on ghostweb not too long ago,
it was an apparition of an older lady, which really freaked me out
because it looked just like my grandmother who died over two years ago.
I mean, it was spooky! This spirit had the same hairstyle, the same
style of clothes my grandmother liked to wear. The room even looked a
bit like my grandmother's bedroom! weird, weird, weird.......
yours truly, and still spooked,

I can't remember where I found either of these, but I have one that's an
ordinary picture of a middle-aged couple posing for a photo outside their(?)
home, only you can make out very faintly a transparent figure standing
behind them, as if posing for the photo along with them. The figure appears
to be that of a young man, only partially decomposed (i.e. semi-skeletal).
The image is very creepy and I don't see how it could have possibly been
faked. I have this saved on my hard drive. If anyone would like me to send
it to them, just remove the NO SPAM and e-mail me privately.
I've also seen another one that was a picture of someone's den or family
room at night, only looking very closely, one can discern the blueish
luminescent image of what looks like a young boy with some kind of head/eye
trauma who appears to be trying to force his way inside via the sliding
glass door. I deleted this one a while back, although I'm fairly certain it
exists on one of the major ghost photo websites out there.
There are tons others as well. I'm actually a big fan of classic spirit
photography (yes I know it's mostly faked, but that doesn't make it any less
beautiful or haunting). I really wish there was more of *that* out there on
the web, as most "ghost photo" sites only tend to display commonplace,
boring "anomalous" snaps and polaroids.

Yikes! No, I don't want to see either of those pictures -- I have cold chills
running up and down my spine just from reading about them!
This isn't the same thing exactly, but I surfed onto a personal web page by
some VERY STRANGE young man, and got the life scared out of me about 5 seconds
later by an absolutely bloodcurdling scream blowing out of my speakers. Once I
stopped hyperventilating -- and muted my speakers -- I checked out some other
stuff on his site. I am very nosy, so I clicked on a webcam link, thinking I
was going to see some guy sitting at his computer...what I saw instead was
labeled "The Dead Guy Cam." There was a static shot of a man lying facedown in
the middle of a large oval rug. You could tell it was a video, though, by the
changes in the picture texture, etc. This guy claimed to have murdered this
fellow and to be keeping him in his basement. The details weren't clear -- I
couldn't make out any injuries, etc -- but it certainly looked like a real
person. I can only hope that it was not a real Dead Guy.
He noted that occasionally, he would pop into the picture, maybe wave or do
some "work" on the body...I was VERY freaked out, but sat watching it,
facinated, for several minutes. It eventually freaked me out so badly I
left...but while I watched, I kept imagining that this guy, the "murderer", was
lurking just outside the frame....or that the Dead Guy was going to get
up...dead and half his face gone, and shamble toward the camera...

Well, the web is home to the seriously disturbed, besides the only
mildly disturbed that hang around here (no offense, folks--it's a joke).
I can only think of two ghost pics that have scared me, and probably
because I was so young when I first saw them: the classic brown lady
picture (can't remember from where, but it's old), and the picture of
that floating monk (again really old). Both are classics! They've
probably been debunked by now, but they still scare me...
Speaking of classic, I dig the "Entity" photo--the one with the arc of
light? That one *hasn't* been debunked, as far as I know. It was even
featured in a photography magazine. That photo is only scary if you
know the story behind it--and then it's terrifying!
A lot of "ghost" pics look to be developing mistakes to me (or flaws in
the film, and whatnot). The orb photos are interesting, but not at all
frightening. Also, I can almost never see the stuff other people see in
the photos, even when it's pointed out to me. "Can't you see the face
there? And the torso there??" Nope, sorry. Maybe I just lack
imagination, because it's not like I'm overly rational!
BTW, that recent Art Bell photo (the one in his studio with the red
thing) was a little creepy, but again--I never saw a menacing devil
figure in that. (Believe me, I looked. It just seemed like a red
cloudy thing to me.)
Oh, well...
*grin*

I think I read recently that the Brown lady of Rhynam (sp?) Hall was debunked
as a fake...but it's still a scary picture. I saw both of those as a kid as
well...in fact, I did a research project on faked ghost and spiritualist
photos...my fourth grade teacher has serious concerns about my mental
health....
Do any of ya'll have any other details on the Brown lady being debunked?

On the first page of Art Bell's ghost photos page is some sort of 3D
obviously faked photo...still scared the hell outta me, though. I even had
a pair of 3D glasses laying around, so I looked at it through them. Very
yucky, creep picture.

Could you post it to the binaries newsgroup? I don't know if you have it, of
course, but you could e-mail it to someone who does.

I've never seen that one. I've seen one in a book of a boy who is appearing
beside another one, both in bathing suits though. That was sort of eerie since
the ghost boy was alive!

yeah, although some of them can be interesting too. Some are really clearly
just photo errors, though. My friend Don is a photographer. He looked at some
"orb" photos and said that while he couldn't tell if they were fakes, that they
would be easy to fake.

which alt.binaries newsgroup would you like me to post it to?
