Phil Brucato, creator of _Deliria: Faerie Tales for a New Millenium_,
used to work for White Wolf who created _Vampire: The Masquerade_ and
other works set in the "World of Darkness". He is currently working on a
new book for them called _Changing Breeds_ for the Werewolf line.
I liked Werewolf, Mage and Changeling... but Vampire just annoyed me.
I've never played a game of it that didn't end in some sort of real life
drama. It was like it actually encouraged mind games and backstabbing
among the players. I'm sure with a good storyteller it could be really
great... unfortunately I've never played with a really good Vampire
storyteller.
The World of Darkness got to the point where it was just too damn...
dark... to be enjoyable anymore. There is only so long you can pretend
to have fun playing in a pre-apocalyptic setting and not feel the strain
of "We're all gonna die anyway...what's the point?"
I was first drawn to Deliria because it was a game based on hope for
humanity, rather than it's ultimate destruction. And the artwork is
phenominal. ;)

I will have to check out Deliria sometime, sounds very interesting.
Yeah, I noticed the drama too. It definitely does encourage players to
form alliances and loyalties. Kinda like the reality show Survivor,
only with vampires. ;)
Ah, it was good fun though.
