A fully functional Windows 95 emulator that runs right in your browser
has been released; you can see it at:

http://JonathansCorner.com/emulator/

Plans are underway for a Windows 7 emulator but are presently being
hindered by IE6 compatibility issues.

Don't program for an obsolete, insecure browser.

Why not? Netscape and Sun scared the crap out of Microsoft with that
idea!

It was a pretty accurate emulation :)

More seriously - I'm pretty sure you could emulate an OS like CP/M
or even an early Unix in a browser and have it run fairly well, perhaps
even faster than the original hardware.

What's the big deal? Display a blue screen and lock the machine.

You'll certainly capture the "look and feel" of Windows 95... ;-)

If someone could make websites a joy to use, they'd get my vote. With
many sites I find myself endlessly following links none of which take me
where I want to go. IBM's search facility seems practically guaranteed
to return the results in inverse order of usefulness.
