I don't know if I just missed this, if Yahoo stashed an email in spam,
or if I wasn't informed, but apparently news.motzarella.org has now
become news.eternal-september.org. It looks like all the accounts have
been carried over. I just had to change my client to point to the new
server (and try to remember my username and password).

From the eternal Septermber website at:
<http://www.eternal-september.org/>

---<quote>---
2009-06-16 09:18:55 Motzarella -> Eternal-September

For various technical reasons the Motzarella reader servers

news.motzarella.org, reader80.motzarella.org and
reader443.motzarella.org

will be replaced by the following servers:

news.eternal-september.org reader80.eternal-september.org and
reader443.eternal-september.org

To make the transition as smooth as possible, the *.eternal-
september.org servers are available as of today.

All accounts will remain valid, as well as all registered FQDNs in the
motzarella.org and eternal-september.org domains

I found this out only because news.motzarella.com stopped working and I
went to check their website. Of course, after I posted my helpful note
I realized that anyone whose news server stopped working wouldn't be
able to read the message either. It's the equivalent of asking someone
to send you email whenever the mail server stops working.

Like I said, they may have sent prior notification and Yahoo trashed it
on me. Even if not, what do I expect for free.

They did send notification by email. The script had a glitch which
meant the email had a lot of stuff in it that it shouldn't have had, but
the main info was certainly there.

I just changed my news server settings in Thunderbird, and everything
kept working fine.

Cheers, Mike.
