Hi,

I am still using Palm Centro.
Bought two new batteries via Amazon, not the original Palm ones.

Problem = both batteries cannot be recharged.
When battery plug into Palm, Centro says:
"Battery is VERY low".
Even after 4 hrs of recharging, battery symbol at the top is empty.

I even got replacements, same problems (used original Palm power supply)
Now tried to check the voltage and was very astonished.
Centro-battery has 3 contacts, I was measuring with description on top
and viewing at the contacts...

1. original battery from my Centro is 3,7 VDC / 1150 mAh
contacts (plus/minus) here named re to my voltmeter, so I found
Plus is always the left contact.

3,38 V

3,88 V

2. batteries via Amazon= For Palm Centro Li-Ion Battery 3,7V 1200 mAh
after 4 hrs recharge time... Plus is always contact in the middle !!!

1,53 V

1,53 V (plus)

In internet I haven't found any hint about which is which for the contact.

Is there someone who knows still a bit about batteries for Palm?
Perhaps next generation Palms by HP has different contacts but still
identical size?
Or is there someone with HP-Palm able to check polarity of the battery?

Or is it possible, that Li-Ion-batteries change polarity themselves?
