My Roommate hell

I am a freshman at the University of Maine, it is April of my second semester
and in this time frame I have moved 4 times and been through three roommates.
Each one was really different. I had one scuzzoid from hell, a dork and my
best friend.
Being a Freshman, I moved in before my first roommate who was a Sophamore. I
couldn't believe what the hell I would be stuck with! He was my total
opposite, a wicked druggie. He scared the hell out of me, so then I moved.
The next guy was a pretty geeky type but we got along OK and I lived with him
for a few months. Living with the dork I met this kid down the hall who was
probably the most like me (he was interested in a lot of stuff I was) and we
became really good friends. After a while he was not getting along with his
roommate and begged me to get a room with him. DON'T MOVE IN WITH YOUR
BEST FRIEND!!!!! A perfect way to end a friendship is to live with one. He was
a total asshole sometimes, and it seemed whenever we fought it was more than a
dispute between rommates it all came down to our friendship. I had to move
out. I know have a double as a single and me and my ex-roomie are still
friends, but not as close as we used to be. I can honestly say: roommates SUCK
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe these three world say it all. Why don't you grow up a learn
to deal with people who have different out-looks on life then you? In
one year you have managed to go through 4 room mates! What the Hell!
I think you are the one with the problem.

Agreed, but tt least it sounds like you did not have to spend a lot of extra
money in the process. I have heard of horror stories where one roommate
sticks another with a $2500 phone bill or trashes the place and you lose your
deposit.
