AVONDALE - A 34-year-old woman found dead inside her home Tuesday was
strangled with a cord, homicide investigators said today.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office is performing an autopsy this morning
on Keshia Renee Hogan. There is a "person of interest" in the case, said
Sgt Gary Conner, supervisor of the homicide unit.
A neighbor and friend found Hogan alone just after 3 p.m. in the home in
the 3400 block of Harvey Avenue.
Hogan leaves behind a twin sister and father. Her death is the latest blow
for the family. Her mother died in December.
Her family said today they have no idea who would kill Hogan or why.
"This is ridiculous. It's senseless," said her twin sister, Kim Hogan, 34,
of North Avondale. "For somebody to do that to her, it's just cruel. She
would never let anybody into her house that she didn't know. If she
thought she knew them, she didn't know this was coming."
Keshia Hogan worked at various dry cleaners since she was a teenager, her
father said.
"She loved it," said James Lavender, 57, of downtown Cincinnati. "It had
something to do with the stitching and the pressing."
The last time her family saw her was Monday night. Kim Hogan said she and
her son drove by her sister's house.
"She was sitting outside on her porch," she said. "We waved to her. She
was fine."
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Cincinnati Police
Criminal Investigation Section: 513-352-3542. Or, remain anonymous and
call Crime Stoppers: 513-352-3040.
