Dear Friend of the LAFD:

To know the Los Angeles Fire Department's media and public relations
staff is to know that we're always tinkering with technology that
will keep you better informed - and better yet, allow your immersion
and interaction with LAFD endeavors, events and issues.

With that in mind, we're pleased to announce our beta-test of LAFD
TalkRadio, a flagship internet offering of the new BlogTalkRadio
network.

LAFD TalkRadio debuts Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM PDT.

In our very first use of the system this Sunday, we'll be streaming
a live half-hour over the internet. To listen, all you need is
computer equipped with Windows Media Player. To participate as a
caller, all you need is a phone!

More information about this beta-test of LAFD TalkRadio can be found
at:

http://test.myphonecompany.com/hostpage.aspx?host_id=62

We hope you'll join the conversation by calling (347)677-0632
between 10:00 and 10:30 AM this Sunday.

In case you wondered, area code 347 is in New York State, home of
the BlogTalkRadio network. Being a Sunday morning, we imagine that
some callers may amass a small toll during their brief participation
in our debut effort.

An exact schedule for LAFD TalkRadio has yet to be determined. We do
plan to archive all shows for later listening.

So please give us a call this Sunday morning. We'd love to hear from
members of our e-mail list. We welcome you to ask a question, just
say hello, or give a quick shout out.

Your call will help us fine tune this technology and determine how
far we might take it.

Fraternally Yours in Safety and Service,

Brian Humphrey
