Does anyone know where I can get the California State Firefighters Association
or IAFF sticker that is a memorial for FDNY?
I saw it this weekend on a car while dining out. Unfortunately I couldnt hang
around to talk to the owner. Besides hanging out here in Los Angeles, can be
dangerous!

It is shaped like the IAFF or CSFA sticker, the background is an american flag
and on it, it says in memory of FDNY 9-11-01.

Any help is appreciated!!

Michelle, Why don't you try calling the association directly,or even a
firehouse,
Let us know how you make out.

Michelle:

There are a whole host of products making the rounds worldwide. When you
take a close look, many are actually home-made "cut and paste" combinations
of other decals, stickers or emblems (i.e. a black strip of tape or contact
paper across a Union or Association decal overlaying a store bought flag
decal). You get the idea.

Your question however, was specific to some organizations (to which I
belong), so I'll try my best to answer in a helpful - if not official role.
Michelle, you probably know most of the stuff below, but for the benefit of
those who lurk...

*The California State Firefighters Association (CSFA) is a 28,000 member
organization that provides a strong and united voice in the evolution of the
fire service within the Golden State. With benefits that include leadership
training, political action, Firefighter and public education, the CSFA has
been a major force in ensuring life safety in our nation's most populous
state for nearly 8 decades. You can learn more about CSFA by visiting:

http://www.csfa.net

I am not aware of any official CSFA decal that is devoted to the events in
New York, but there is a generic decal that CSFA provides to members. The
decal does not convey any benefit or priveledge, and hopefully is not the
sole reason anyone would want to join CSFA.

FWIW: You do not need to be a Firefighter to join CSFA (they have both
Student and Associate membership). For more details, please see the PDF
format application at:

http://www.csfa.net/membership/membershipapplication.pdf

*The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) is a 240,000 member
labor organization of career fire service and EMS personnel. As an AFL-CIO
affiliated labor union, the IAFF represents those who protect more than 85
percent of the lives and property - and are the largest providers of
pre-hospital emergency medical care, in the United States. You must be a
career Fire or EMS employee to belong to the IAFF. For more information,
please visit:

http://www.iaff.org

I am not aware of any single official IAFF decal that is devoted to the
events in New York, but there are generic decals that IAFF provides to
members, as well as those created by any of the scores of Union Locals in
North America. Like its California counterpart, an IAFF decal does not
convey any particular benefit or privilege, and hopefully is not the sole
reason anyone would want to join this omnipotent organization.

For those that wish to surf the net, a search through http://www.google.com
(or similar search engine) might help you find a local offering.

I hope this information proves helpful.

Yours in Safety and Service,

Thanks Brain!
I am aware of both Associations.
The sticker I saw was like CSFA fire hat, only the background was of the
American flag with the mention of In memory of FDNY 9-11-01.

Maybe someone did create such a sticker using the fire hat design.

I did look on both associations web site and saw nothing.

If you do hear of anything like this let me know!

They are a non profit that has produced the ones I think you are talking about. They've redesigned the stickers a little recently. Hope it's what you are looking for.
