I also have a TK-380 (UHF) which DOES have the 2-Tone paging
capability listed in the programming software menus (the same program
above). This radio is running a pre-2.0 version of the radio firmware.
My questions are:
1. Does the TK-280 support 2-Tone paging?
2. If #1 true, where are the 2-Tone paging options on the KPG49D
Software?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Eric
Heroes, every one of them.

Now, if I could only find out the cap or reed codes for the fire
department two-tone alert, I'd be in good shape.

Eric, the two methods are 1. Contacting the local radio shop who services
your pagers, or 2. Find an old motorola brick radio, or pager, and read the
numbers off the tones. You'll need to cross reference them to a
frequency(hertz) chart in order to get the numbers kenwood is looking for,
but it can be done. If you manage to get the QC (quickcall) numbers, hollar
back, somewhere I've got the link to the cross reference chart.

If you really need it, get a pager that knows how to power save and
alert properly too.
