OK, the 'life' series dies with this thread.

We took a random shot in the evening gloom and decided to visit
Southampton to see which 'megacruiseliners' were still alongside. Guess
how many. None. Still that's about par for the course.

However, whilst there were none alongside, there was one out on the water
and obviously turning itself round so that it could head out into the open
sea. Not, as I originally thought, the twin of Freedom of the Seas, and
at a mere 140,000 tons, a slip of a ship in comparison, but nonetheless,
it's impressive. I give you 'Navigator of the Seas'.

Just a couple of piccies for you tonight.

Any road up, that's it with big boats for the time being. Next up, trains.

Given that I'm 59 in about five minutes, I'd better hurry up about it,
don't you think? <lol>

They got stabilisers built in. Don't ask me how they work, or what exactly
happens if, perish the thought, they ever stop working, but they got 'em.
Somewhere. <lol>

i recall a year or so ago that happened on a cruise ship and it toppled 30
degrees within a minute, scattering passengers all over the place... my
understanding is they work like a gyroscope (remembering my childhood
gyroscope... <g>)

Yes indeed. Gyroscopes. that's what they would have. Dirty great big ones
I'll bet.

The image of *that* ship keeling over thirty degrees, is quite scary. I
think I'll retain my dislike for the idea of cruising. ;-)

Hmmm. You're not on my calendar.... Is this true? If so,
Happy Birthday!

I keep hearing that folks are gonna have serial careers. Even
if that is not the case, it would make a nice hobby for you
(even a full-time one).

The 'five minutes' bit may have been journalistic licence but it's soon
now. Too soon if you ask me. <lol>

As with Joy, I shall not open this greeting till Monday, but thanks anyway.

It already is a nice hobby. Has been for very nearly 38 years - my folks
gave me a camera for my 21st birthday present.
