Wondering if this might be the online place for me

Dear Reader -

It's been a while since grazing these parts... kind of a long
story that boils down to becoming somewhat disenchanted with
so-called Gemini (protocol) places/spaces, and wondering if
maybe there's a place me in the grand 'ole USENET I once knew
and loved back in those wild and wacky - yet beloved - 1990s.

Should you reply to this, please let me know if there's a
"courteous line length" preferred in these parts so I can
be sure to 'fmt' my posts to be in accord (I'll go with
64 characters for now just because the number appears in a
Beatles song title...).

Regards,

I don't recall a preferred line length. Maybe I was lucky in that my
newsreader managed it for me. I was on this group 20 years ago, and just
browsing to see how much it has changed. A lot.

Oh? Care to describe? I imagine there were a lot more
participants back in the day for starters.

I posted quite a bit back in the 90s, but it was in one
religious newsgroup due to some unrequited love of a coworker
who belongs to a particular sect. Note that I'm not saying
I was particularly smart back then, and my wife has amassed
bountiful evidence such is still the case. :-)

This newsgroup name does sound familiar, though.

I posted here around 10 yrs. ago... Jean and Wolfie were 2 of my
friends. There was a david, but he was married to a dalin.

Aha! That would me, and dalin is still my wife. I do recall Jean and
Wolfie. I even created a website for this group and it's still alive at
https://afpf.tripod.com/ although not updated in a decade or more. I
turned it over to another person in 2002. Funny that you remember me. I
logged in yesterday primarily to check my email settings.

Thank you so much for sharing the link to our group, I enjoyed seeing
pictures of the old gang; though it saddens me to think of how many are
probably gone now.

My best wishes to you and Dalin,
VictoriaB. in Okla.
