Hi again,
I've been busy reading the FAQ and found out I should post a little about
myself. Basically, I'm a computer geek that's taken an interest in writing.
I've been writing fanfiction since October of last year and have recently
moved into original works. I mainly have a Sci-Fi bend, although I do enjoy
the occasional fantasy and I have plans to write a couple of stories of a
more serious socio-political nature.

Not to worry. I'll get busy reading some of these stories and critiquing
as soon as possible. :)

I vote we kick him out now .. he's another sci-fi buff.
Only joking ... one day I am going to teach myself to like sci-fi.
Welcome. I like computer geeks, they have my utmost respect, anyone
who can tame these malevolent beasts has to be admired.

Heh. Well it's my fault for not being a bit more specific, but I'm a "she."
And don't worry about not being a Sci-Fi fan. Not everyone can get into
teckie talk. I'm more character-oriented than gizmo-oriented in my writing
anyway. I've got a romance story in the works right now. It's not a real
"sweep her off her feet" kind of story, but it does have a little emotional
value to it. If you folks would like to see it, I'll be happy to post it.

Post .. please do.
I'm so sorry Meany of the female variety, the lads out number the
lasses in here about eight to one at a guess. Assuming 'everyone' is
male rarely gets you caught out. Now if I assumed everyone was female,
I'd be getting shouted at a lot.
I must say there HAVE been some sci-fi stories that I've enjoyed. but
always those with good strong characters so that the aliens,
machinery, and spacecraft were incidentals.
Good to have another shefolk in our ranks ... look fellas LEGS!

Legs? Where? Oh, you mean still attached. I got excited there
for a minute and thought there had been some sort of disastrous
accident.

(grins) I hope they're still attached. It would make walking a difficult
task without them.

Thanks, Bart. I'm starting to feel welcome with the friendly people on this
