Went to visit the University of Chicago, and ended up slipping away to go
shopping downtown while the Dean pretty much begged all of us to go to his
school...:-).

at Henri Bendel:
Benefit Brow Zing. haven't really mastered how to use this yet, oh well.
--a ton of Kiehl's samples thrown in, too

at Barney's:
Stila Puck
NARS Dolce Vita lipstick.
NARS Bombshell eyeshadow single
I am now an official NARS convert. The lipstick feels wonderful, and I love the
eyeshadows! Help!
--a bunch of Philosophy samples
***For all of you in Chicago, just wanted to let you know that Erika Wood, one
of the Barney's SA's, is an absolutely wonderful and helpful person! So ask for
her when you go! (and tell her I said hi, too!)

at Bloomie's:
Px Matchstick in Warm Vellum
--a perfect match, and feels wonderful.

almost bought:
a ton of stuff from the MAC store, but I stood and waited 10 minutes for
someone to finish up and come help me. So i left. and went back later. same
deal. at least i ended up saving a bundle of money, though, but geez. you would
think that a store would give you more attention than the dept. counter!

bought and returned:
EL Enlighten. Too orangey and gross, and rubbed off all over the place.
--They had a nat'l makeup ar-teest there, so he ended up doing my makeup in the
most horrible way. I look awful in pastel colors, yet he insisted on doing a
"wash" of sky blue on my eyes with an orangey-gold base, and navy eyeliner.
yuck. to top it off, he slathered my lips with some really light pink lipstick
and a horrible horrible horrible dark lipliner. When I mentioned that it wasn't
really my look, he just said it was "fashion, the look EVERYONE is wearing." uh
huh. I felt so bad for the darling SA who helped me with the foundation and
skincare, so i ended up buying the Enlighten, and sneaking back later to return
it cuz i saw my face in daylight! doh!

Those must have been the "push" colors of the day.....:) When I was at a
counter, we used to have a list of colors that make-up artists could use
during make-over events that we had too much of in stock and wanted to get rid
of.....
