I keep all my face creams, foundation and blush in a black print cloth
bag like the Pierre Deux fabrics...this is all the underneath stuff
All the brow, eye, lip color stuff is in a huge 3 tier black makeup
box where the top 2 shelves can pull out to the sides...available at
Macys before Christmas. I keep eye colors on the left and lip colors
on the right and quads, large items, items not frequently used etc. on
the bottom.

One messy shelf in my medicine cabinet, and an oversized pink soapdish.

In a Trish organizer, a Clarins makeup bag (available around Xmas, folds open
and has 3 big zipper compartments), 2 Chantecaille bags (where my Nars, Chanel
and Lorac live), a wicker flat square organizer on the shelve, and a separate
shelve in our bathroom where the towels SHOULD go.

I bought two sets of those clear plastic drawers (they also come in
colors) from Target. They have 3 drawers each, so I have them set up as
lipsticks, foundations & powder, blushes, eye shadows, mascaras & liquid
liners, and utensils (eyelash curler, tweezers, etc.). Then on top of the
drawers, I keep my two Stila cans, one for brushes and one for eye and lip
pencils. Also on top are my Nars kits and Stila 9-pans. This is the best
arrangement I've found yet (at least for me).

Hi, Chris...

Probably not the most glamorous way--big, plastic zip-lock bags! I've
tried other ways, but I always come back to this. They're cheap,
disposable, and if you have anything liquid that breaks inside, they
protect against spills!

An antique wooden three shelf trolley, 40 inches by 22 inches. The first shelf
has in baskets, pewter cups, blown glass bowls, and wooden platters all my
cosmetic goodies.

Well, I just moved but so far, I have a huge Pier One crate, that sits on the
floor, with makeup in and on it, in the bathroom. In the crate, along with
loose stuff, is a 3 drawer plastic compartment that has summer and winter
stuff.

I have a rolling 3 draw plastic organizer that has stuff in it and a wooden
trough (sp?) with compartments that sits in the window.

I plan to put up shelves to hold my nail polishes (last count - over 100).
Right now, they're on my file cabinet in the closet.

Well, my make-up goes in a huge soft black bag. It has a drawstring and now it
is ripping after having it 1+ years.
I need to find something new. I used to keep all my make-up in Chinease
take-out boxes. I would ask the local market if I could buy them and I would
end up with 2 for 25 cents.
I keep my sun screen,
toner, lotions, perfumes in my medicine cabnit. It is out side the actual
bathroom.
And my nail polish stayes in the fridge...

Anyone remember those lucite make-up organizers that use to be at all the
drugstores? Practically make-up TOWERS, with hidey-holes all over. I saw one at
Bed, Bath & Beyond that was for nail stuff, but it was puny compared to the
ones they had out in the 80's. I found a "toilet tank organizer" and have it at
the end of my counter (putting it on the actual toilet tank would be
inconvenient, since it's in another room) it's got dividers for compacts,
foundation jars, ect. Isurrounded it with jars I find interesting filled with
brushes, eye pencils, lip pencils, ect. Works for me.

An organized mess is what you'd call what I have going on.

On Dresser: assorted lip balms, cuticle creams, tube of vaseline for lips, hand
lotions, tweezers, nail files, contact lense case....such a mess!

In closet: old caboodle, before they made ones that were see-through,
glitterized, w/stupid complicated latches. I love this thing for it's
functionality, but it's a hideous purple/pink eyesore. This contains my main
loot...eyeshadows, lipliners, blushes, eyeliners, powders..you get the picture.

I also have a vanity full of other beauty stuff that isn't makeup and a cabinet
of stuff I rarely use or just won't fit on the vanity.

My cosmetics are kept in a Sassaby organizer. Keeps everything out of
reach and view of visitors and it's great for traveling.

I transferred everything to palettes and nine pans and now everything fits in
one box. Saves a huge amount of time, too.

A few months ago, I finally found the items/system that works for me. At
least, with *today's* collection of products!

At Organized Living, I picked up a three-large-drawer see-thru plastic
cabinet thing on casters for storing facial masks, sunless tanners, back
up shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, etc. On top of that, I have a
companion three small drawer cabinet for shadows, blushes, Stila 9-pans,
MAC palettes, etc.

On my bathroom vanity, I have an acrylic organizer (also from Organized
Living) that holds all my foundations, bronzing powder, MAC blotting
powder, concealers, etc., along with sponges & powder puffs, and some
brushes.

On one side of the orgainzer, I have four silver mesh pencil cups from
Staples that hold mascaras, eye pencils, and lip pencils, and the rest of
my brushes.

My lipsticks and glosses are lined up in front of the organizer and on
the other side in acrylic (from Organized Living) lipstick holders, and
in plastic (from Ultra 3) lipstick holders. I would have gone with just
the acrylic ones, but the holes are not large enough for some lipsticks,
like Dior, YSL, and Lancome.

During the day, I throw a lightweight kitchen towel over the "stash" to
keep dust, etc. out.

Daily cleansing & toning products are kept by the sink, with eye creams,
sunscreen, eye makeup remover, etc. in the medicine cabinet.

Finally, on the toliet tank, I have an oblong wire basket, lined with a
pretty pastel plaid cotton napkin, and filled with various scented body
lotions.

Finally...a system that works for me!

A massive tackle box from KMart-has 4 drawers and a large, deep
flip-up top (filled, it must weigh 30 lbs easy). And what doesnt fit
in there goes in either palettes or baskets in the top drawer of my
dresser. All skincare is in the bathroom in the medicine cabinet.

My system is a Caboodles box on top of my dresser. My brushes sit next to it
(They're in a Stila can). I also have a plastic basket next to THAT which
contains back-up lipsticks, my mirror, sunscreen, etc. I also have a train
case in my closet with backups of favorite products, extra sponges, and less
used but still wanted items...

Well, I have a 6' counter in my bathroom w/the sink on the right (thank
goodness it wasn't one of those stupid double sink counters) and plenty of
space & drawers to the left. My makeup is all at the end, with a lighted
make-up mirror, and a chair. (ugly folding chair w/ an afghan thrown over it,
LOL) I can sit down, everything is right there, (including radio/CD player in
the windowsill, a MUST) but the sink is a step away for cake eyeliner, ect.
Works great for me.

Subject to change without notice, but this method of organization has
been working well for the past year.

Location: dressing area adjacent to bathroom and closet. This area is
equipped with drawers and cabinets so everything is out of sight when
not in use.

Lipsticks: stored in drawer, tubes are in acrylic lipstick holders I got
from _Hold Everything_; tops of lipsticks are removed for easy color
identification. Tubes generally stay in drawer as I have a palette that
I carry with me.

Foundations: stored in bottom level of black MAC makeup case.

Eyeshadows, blushes: stored in top three levels of MAC case. Everything
is stored with plastic top removed so my case is actually a gigantic
palette. Light shades are on top level; contour, brow, and liner shades
are in middle; blushes are in the lowest tray.

Brushes are in a cobalt blue glass vase on counter-top. Cleansers,
creams, etc. are in cabinet.

I am a visually-oriented person that needs to see everything at once.
(That's why I don't use dressers or chests for my clothes. Everything is
folded on wire shelves so my bedroom looks like a store. Baskets and
such keep this set-up looking neat.) I like to see everything I have or
I end up buying duplicates because I forget what I own.

makeup cases, but it does a fabulous job.

Dont laugh but a few weeks back I saw the ultimate makeup organizer-a
Sears Craftsman rolling Workstation-it's not the metal ones but sturdy
plastic-$219 on sale. Looks like a rolling tea cart w/5 or six
drawers of varying depths and a sliding top that reveals deep storage
space.

I cut out the picture from the flyer I saw it in and carry it around
with me just in case I come into some "mad money".

I bought a big plastic fishing tackle box at my local Farm & Fleet. The
top lifts up, and that space is deep enough for foundations, loose powders,
etc, and then below are five pull out drawers that hold eye colors, lip and
eye pencils, mascara & lipsticks. I got the idea from a *wonderful* post
by rjudith, you might try DejaNews for it--it was about a year or so ago.

I *never* put my makeup on in the bathroom anymore after reading an article
in Science News about the germs put out by your average household toilet.
Apparently the contamination (through aerosols caused by flushing) is so
bad that if you keep your toothbrush in the bathroom you might as well
brush by dipping in the bowl!!

EWWWWW! :-P It took me about 5 seconds to get everything out of there!!!
