Certificates and plaques I understand...but a BED THROW?? Anyway,
congratulations to Laura.

My outfit: slate blue/dark violet-printed corduroy dress & jacket, black
Dansko Monika sandals, messy updo with new overpriced hair sticks from
J. Crew. Have been living in my new house since October but still can't
find the box with my jewelry, so I continue to be without earrings or

I had a

it was a cute outfit, until we were sitting in the theatre after school and we

This sounds like a good time to ask a question: Does getting a "Dry
Clean or Else" clothing item damp in the rain damage it? I try to avoid
dry-clean-onlies, but I have a horror that I will get caught in the rain
in one and ruin it forever.

Had it been a good silk or something along those lines I would not be a happy

been ruined by the rain I would have just cut off the buttons and sewn them on

Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. Two lane road to
get on the freeway; left lane is left turn or go straight. Right lane
is "Right Only." I was going straight to get on the freeway. However,
middle-aged woman in a late model, white Caddy in the right-hand lane
decides she is not only not going to turn right or go straight, but turn
LEFT. If I hadn't slammed on my brakes when I did her headlights
would've been sitting in my passenger seat. I looked up at her in
surprise, and she was hopping mad and gesturing wildly at me. I can't
read lips but I can guess the kind of language she was using, because
obviously, it was my fault for obeying the road signs and
inconveniencing her. Then she took advantage of my having stopped to
speed around me and make her left turn. Go fig. kayper

Well, it was a beautiful but black-fly ridden day here in bucolic NH & I
therefore refused to leave the house. I've also been on the road off &
on for the past several weeks & am enjoying doing nothing. To celebrate
the wonder that is me on this fine Mother's Day, I'm wearing...

-Oversized boxer shorts with dogs all over them (but not a single
Bernese Mtn Dog, sob)
-A ripped Offspring t-shirt (stolen from my son, which makes it
appropriate mother's day garb, in my book)
-White ankle socks (Not that you notice them - they sort of blend in
with my white legs.)
-Navy blue wool clogs
-Zero makeup (hell, I never even made it into the shower) but for Nars
Mongolian Red lipstick with WTF's Sweetie Darling over it. The Nars is a
perennial favorite & Sweetie Darling adds this wonderful dimension &
shimmer to it. (Sweetie Pie is heinously similar to EL's Go Pout in
Sugar Daddy in tone, texture & effect, but maybe 1 or 2 shades deeper)

I look kind of insane, really, but in a kissable way.
