I'm female but like to wear male clothes, as a matter of fact I can't
stand female clothes or makeup. This group seems to be males the wear
female clothes is there a place that for females that wear mens
clothes?

There have been a few female to male (F2M) crossdressers that have stopped
by here. Unfortunately for you, we male to female (M2F) crossdressers or
T*Girls just love to talk about makeup and women's clothing here on AFCD.
You could try alt.support.crossdressing for less fashion chatter. Or you
could try soc.support.transgendered or alt.transgendered. Wish I could help
you more.

Actually only to some extent. I like to look cool so that I actually
buy suits from places like Orvis. I like the 'Sherlock Holmes' type
suites. I have some real cool looking jackets that come from that
time period. I've also been able to get hold of shirts that look
like they come out of the 17th and 18th centuries.

If you wear jeans and shirts its acceptable but when you start
dressing up or attempting to wear mens dress clothes to work people
start noticing.

Unfortunately, there probably isn't a newsgroup (of course, I'm just guessing).
WHY? Women wearing men's clothing has always been accepted and is fairly
common.....isn't that strange? Why is it considered "weird" for men to do the
same?
(Speaking for the general public there, not Myself, of course).

I have always worn men's jeans cause they don't make an inseam long enough for
Me in women's clothing (even Tall sizes are about 34" inseam). Menswear
styling was even considered trendy for a spell (Annie Hall days, I think).

I don't see why not, either. This is alt.fashion.crossdressing and as far as
I'm aware it's not limited to MTF cross-dressers. I think it would be
interesting to hear about cross-dressing from a different side.

And I concur wholeheartedly. Please feel free to stick
around and add your comments whenever you have something
to contribute or want to get our opinions. Do recall,
Alien_Dancer, that the suggestions and advice you get here
is worth what you pay for it... you can pay a lot by
contributing, or not, as you see fit.

Welcome, in any case.

Be welcome here! Most of us are M2F crossdressers, but there is no law that
says that you might not post here and discuss with us. I am a genetic male,
but at work are a lot of ladies known as lesbians wearing mens'clothes,
especially male uniforms. The fact that they are lesbians in the male role
has in my opinion not necessarily to do with their crossdressing. I suppose
that it will be the same like us: most of us are heterosexual and probably
married. A minority is homo- or bisexual.

I hope you will stay in this ng and share your experiences with us.

Greetings,

Francisca (The Netherlands)

I will do that.

You may have suggestions where I could shop also.

I'm heterosexual by the way or at least monogamous and I met a guy
that I got along with before I met a female. He accepts me as I am
and even helps me shop.

I'll probably do some lurking and jump in when I see something
interesting.

Thanks for the invitation. I really appreciate it.

Recently alien_Dancer inquired about "females out there"

As far as this M2F is concerned, she is welcome. I have always held that
every one to whom you speak knows something that you can use. If you don,t
talk to them, well you cannot know what they know and you can use. Welcome
F2M. I am sure in many respects their presence will be helpful to us.

Good!

> You may have suggestions where I could shop also.

Yeah, and we could probably give you a few suggestions as to how to act,
what to do, how things work from this side of the gender fence. You
know, things like not smiling all of the time. Girls smile a lot, guys
don't, except at girls.

And as far as shopping - where to shop and all - CompUSA is good, so's
Border's Books and the auto showrooms. Oh, you mean clothing. Hmmm...
Guys hate shopping, especially for clothes. Of course you'll still need
some kind of clothing, so look and see what guys wear. Look at guys on
the street, in the mall, at work. Scope out the kind of guy that either
you'd like to be or the kind of guy you'd be if not for the fate of a
chromosome.

He sounds like an okay kinda guy.

Barge in once in awhile. That's okay too.

> Thanks for the invitation. I really appreciate it.

Oh, a little fashion item or two - this *is* a "fashion" ng. Don't wear
any of that lacy, sissy junk under your clothes. Men's briefs or boxers
are fine, but NEVER call them underpants. Depending on how well you're
"built", you probably already know how to hold things down. Sports bra
(if absolutely necessary) or heavy duty ace type bandage (better) may be
what you need to bind yourself, but hide it under a tee shirt and/or
heavy/opaque shirt. The point is that it's all about wearing guy
clothes. Guys don't do Vanity Fair or Olga; it's Fruit of the Loom,
Jockey (for Men, not Women), BVD, Calvin Klein (guy stuff, not girl
stuff).

I know there are prosthetics that can be purchased for MEMBERship in the
guy club (if you know what I mean ;-)). Check out the search engines,
however, and see if there's a do-it-yourself method. Also look in
sewing or craft shops for ideas. A piece of cut foam and a safety pin
or two could go a long way to making it seem as though your voice is
dropping and that hair is growing annoyingly out of your face. You
don't see flat T-girls. T-boys shouldn't have a v-shaped crotch. Fine
clothiers will actually tailor clothing depending on whether you dress
"to the left" or "to the right" (a function of where the "parts" hang).

Oh. Wear real socks. Don't wear those damned anklets, knee highs or
girl-style trouser socks. Don't do argyles. Get dark, opaque socks or
white athletic socks. And if they don't quite match each other or the
outfit, well, tough. Who cares, as long as it's close.

Final fashion tip. For Sunday February 20, the fabric of the day is
Nomex, at least in the US. What the hell is that you might ask?

http://www.nomex.com/

[No, this ISN'T spam, and I have no bloody financial interest in this,
so drop it.]

It's the guy's moral equivalent of silk or Antron III nylon. It is use
in fire retardant clothing, typically used in race car driver outfits.
The Daytona 500 will run a week from this Sunday, and the guys will be
wearing it. No, it's not the tactile equivalent to silk, and it's
certainly not cool - especially with 600+ HP blasting away in front of
you, but I'll never forget my day at the wheel of one of those puppies
at just under 120 mi/hr. Yeah. :-)

Okay Buddy. Get out of them girl clothes and be a man!

And for God's sake, DON'T wear anything pink or purple. Grey,
black, navy, brown, or red if it's bright insignia red - that's
it. Teal blue is pushing it.

What's wrong with purple? Pink, I understand, because it does have a
stigma to it, but I know plenty of run-of-the-mill guys who wear purple!

Well I do like purple but definitely not pink.

Since were talking fashion I found some real cool shirts not long ago
the kind with the funny collars, don't know what they are called but
they are rounded and instead of a tie you wear a little pin looking
thing the black shirt had a white one and the white shirt had a black
one. The women in the store would not let me try them on till she
measured my neck to be sure they would fit. Is that normal practice?
Any way my neck size was 14 and the smallest shirt they had was a 15
and she would not let me try the damn thing on. I thought the whole
thing was a bit odd, I've never been told I couldn't try on a shirt
before. I wasn't sure if this was something I should have made a
stink over so I just left I'm sure I can find the damn shirts
somewhere else. Is there a place anyone can recommend that carries
stylish looking shirts for a size 14 neck.

I don't really like shopping but I just lost lots of weigh, from a
size 40 to a size 32 and in some pants I can even get into a size 30.
I have to replace everything I own cause my larger clothes are falling
off. I feel real good about it cause my breasts have gone back to
being real small and I think I look real good now. I found some
jackets at Orvis that look good with some turtle necks I got there.
brown pants, reddish turtle neck (not bright, I'm not sure what you
call the color it may have a brownish tint) and a Sherlock holmes
looking Jacket that has a belt at the waist.

Anyone know where to find cool stuff other than Orvis? I buy stuff at
other places also but most of that looks pretty ordinary.

OK. my two cents worth, actual value... Well here it is anyways! You
forgot the three most important places for guys to shop.
3. Lowes
2. Home Depot
1. Sears, where else can you get an oil filter wrench, chain-saw blade,
and a stylish pair of figgure flattering pantyhose?! Those were two
smart guys that put that place together!

I get enough of nomex, kevlar, PBI, tyvek and tychem at work in fire, rescue and HazMat. Yeah, it's hot, especially when ceiling
temperatures reach 1300 degrees and everything flashesover! Yeeha! :O) My last firecoat got ripped and so replaced. The one
before that I burned-up. Oops!
