I don't believe a soundtrack exists for Manhattan Murder Mystery, but
there is a certain song I am trying to locate which is featured in
this film; in order to to this, I need the song title. Perhaps someone
could offer some help.
The song plays when Carol Lipton, played by Diane Keaton, steals the
janitors keys from the basemenr and proceeds to break into the Haus's
apartment for the first time. It sounds as if it might have been
recorded in the 40's, with a thick upright bass and odd percussion,
including a cow bell. There is also some whistling on the track.
I would really love to locate this song on compact disc.

Actually, the name of the record is "South Rampart Street Parade."

The name of the song is "Big Noise From Winnetka" and was performed
by Bob Crosby and His Orchestra. I don't know if there's a
soundtrack for MMM, though there should be, but there are a number
of Bob Crosby discs that include this song. The best all-around

CD is probably "South Street Rampart."

I went through the credits myself looking to find "Sing Sing Sing," so I
know how you feel. The song you want is probably "The Big Noise from
Winnetka." However, I haven't found the version Woody used on CD, but I'll
keep looking anyway...

You're right. I posted a response to this a few days ago. It's "The
Big Noise from Winnetka," and the version used in the movie can be
found on a number of CDs from Bob Crosby and His Orchestra. The track
in the movie that really gets me is "Out of Nowhere" performed by
Coleman Hawkins and his All-Star Band, including Django Reinhardt.
The soundtracks to most of Woody's films are first rate.
