Good day,

I was wondering if anyone knew about the song "Forty-seven Ginger-headed
Sailors" which Bertie Wooster sings in the Fry/Laurie Jeeves and Wooster
series.

For one thing, is it mentioned in the books? I don't recall any such thing
(and I know the show takes liberties, like turning the banjolele into a
trombone).

For another, is it a real song? If it is, my fiancee would very much like to
find sheet music for it, since she's a pianist with a silly sense of humor.

Regards,

The Song was written by British singer Leslie Sarnoy. (in the 30's, my guess)
I have looked High & Low for a copy of the recording. In the show, the drones
at one point, are playing it on a grammophone.
The singer sounds like Hetty King.
Can anyone confirm?

Thank you very much - I will start trying to find it, too.
If I turn anything up I shall hasten to alert you.
