On the inside cover of the CWRU library's copy of "Summer Moonshine" by
P.G. Wodehouse I found the following message:

"A Gift of Jessica Melton Perry in memory of James Perry"

and the following address:

All-pets
P.O. Box 151
Ford du Lac, Wisconsin

Does this mean that the net.rumor about RoboKibo is true...for years
Kibo hasn't even been human ?...the living dead....someone help out here...

No, this is a cross-post.

Great, just great. The one civilized, urbane, considerate newsgroup
left on the net has just been trolled.

Lovers of the Master and this club should carefully watch the follow-up
lines in articles, and avoid cross-posting at all costs.

Erica, I certainly didn't mean to imply that you had done anything
untoward. My irritation was exclusively directed toward the
intruders. It can be *that bad*, because replies and replies to
replies are cross-posted promiscuously in ever greater numbers, to
the point where the group virtually ceases to function. Some
formerly pleasant clubs have been forced to close their doors after
all of the regular members ceased frequenting the premises following
one of these episodes.

Kibo was the nickname of the late James Perry, a famous science fiction author
and philanthropist, as well as the founder of the religion "Kibology" and the
author of the book "Paranetics," from which L. Ron Hubbard's frequently borrowed.
He is thought to have written much of the work commonly attributed to Wodehouse;
I'm surprised you're not familiar with him if you're a fan of Wodehouse.

On the newsgroup alt.religion.kibology, there's a crank who posts under the
name James "Kibo" Parry as a joke -- note the similar but subtly different
last names. He exists primarily to stir up the Kibologists, but some people
think he's the real deal, bogus last name and all. Timothy is one of those
people, and was expressing surprise and finding a Wodehouse/Perry tome which
suggested that James "Kibo" Perry was in fact dead, and that the posts from
James "Kibo" Parry are, in a sense, forgeries.

Clear?

*Snort!* Not by anybody who knows anything about Wodehouse.

>I'm surprised you're not familiar with him if you're a fan of Wodehouse.

This is rather like asking Shakespeare fans why they aren't familiar with
Francis Bacon.
