It was Wed, 14 Mar 2001... Majick spoke words of wisdom:

Where in the credits/as what? I can't see anything...
(But, Michael A. Stackpole is credited there as "location
manager/France" for the Rogue Squadron console game. I think they
meant "consultant", but , oh, well :-). )

Really? I didn't know that. Coolness.
(keep writing, Mike! write faster! I need Fortress Draconis to survive!)

not quite sure what to think
I love the X-men movie, especially the bit where Johnny Storm aka the
Human Torch from Fantastic Four and Iceman have cameos

*Bangs head on desk* Must... resist... urge... to... nitpick... Too hard.
Bugger.
It's not Johnny Storm -
a) Johnny Storm isn't a mutant
b) Johnny Storm wouldn't need the Zippo.
It's actually Pyro, a guy with the ability to manipulate flame, but not create
it. He turns up in the comics with a couple of flamethrowers. He's usually in
the company of the (hideously named) Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
*Bangs head on desk* I don't know what I find sadder - the fact that I see this
misconception everywhere, or the fact I *always* have to jump in and nitpick.
*Bangs head on desk one more time, with feeling* Oh. *And* this is off-topic.

Sorry i got it wrong, but then I've never really read marvel comics. I
only had a couple of the original X-men ones (when they were in their
black -or was it dark blue? - all over bodysuits and iceman was a main
character with cyclops and beast) and a couple of fantastic four
annuals. So i've never heard of pyro, therefore most of the public will
probably be in the same position as me hence any misconceptions.
If Johnny storm isn't a mutant then how does he catch fire and not get
burnt? I can't remember. Oh, and what's Pyro's real name, cos Storm
called him John (another reason I made the mistake)

Oh, oh, me, me!!
Johnny Storm, along with the rest of the Fantastic Four, gained their powers
when their spaceship got caught in a cosmic storm.
Pyro's real name is St. John Allardyce, and he can manipulate flame, but not
generate it.
Marvel Mike
And Josh called me on the Torch/Pyro thing as well
:snip:
OT: Mike, do you have AIM/ICQ perchance?
Well then i blame marvel for the confusion - i mean calling two flame-
related superheroes John!! Thanks for clearing this up for me.
NM, you do. You're not online, though.

And sorry for being a pedantic dickhead. :)
Josh.

I can beat ya on that, Mr Nolan... Pyro is most definitely not a superhero,
not up until right near the end, anyway.

Mike
Can argue about Marvel for hours
It certainly wasn't me or Mike "doing a little play on words" -- our
respective egos are too great to allow us to forego the opportunity to
have our real names listed in movie credits.
I expect it's a complete coincidence -- that it's some guy whose name
really is Aaron Stackpole. In fact, I'll predict that Aaron Stackpole
isn't even within sight of Mike on Mike's family tree; otherwise, I'd
have expected Mike to say, sometime during the last 19 years, "Hey, I
have a cousin named Aaron."
Just a guess.

Well, how can I argue with an answer coming direct from the horse's mouth?
Thank you Aaron, although now we know that you're back among us, expect a
deluge of questions about your next projects.
Especially your NJO books...
