ello all,

ages and ages ago someone played me a cd of covers, and it has vic reeves
singing a cover of vienna by ultravox (I think) which degenerated pretty
fast into vic singing something about belgian policemen..

anyone know what the cd was called or where I can get a copy of the song?
Its one of the funniest things I've ever heard..

The song came from an album called Ruby Trax. This was a three LP/CD
released by the NME in 1991. It featured artists doing covers of various
UK number one's, the only exception being Vic's version of Vienna (which
only reached No.2).

The album featured the likes of Blur, Tin Machine(Bowie), Suede, Jesus
and Mary Chain, Billy Bragg, Tori Amos, Boy George and even Danii
Minogue.

The album also featured the "Theme from M*A*S*H - suicide is painless"
by the Manic Street Preachers which was their first UK No.1.

All proceeds went to the spastics society.
