Well, TATU is this Russian pop two piece, a couple of girls who are
moderately popular at the moment, if only, it seems to me, because they do
some heavy fanserivce in their PR material. I heard them being referred to
as "Russian lesbians" some time ago.

Why do I get this weird image of Touga in a cowboy outfit with no shirt?

Is he going to act like Dr. Evil now? I just want some fair warning so I
don't end up running far away for nothing at all.

I *wish* the page I'd seen, that showed the similarities between Dr.
Evil and Professor Nemuro, was still around. But it has disappeared.

They certainly act that way for the videos, apparently, but since they

If you want demented, look no further than your's truly... Hey, we all know
that Akio's 'Drive to the End of the World' schtick was inspired by the Coleman
Francis classic Red Zone Cuba's convertable to Hell scene... And let's not

Bah. I didn't need *his* help for that - I was grooving to the Reverend Al

This brings to mind the bizarre Soviet-era "alcoholic novel" MOSCOW TO THE
END OF THE LINE, which until I saw "Adolescence Mokushiroku" was the
most surreal thing I'd ever experienced.

Oh, it's FAR more disturbing than that. Next to Shiro as God-Emperor of the
World, Skynet looks positively benevolent & cuddly. And don't forget ,
Samurai
Cat stands in for George Bailey. If you haven't read SAMURAI CAT GOES
TO THE MOVIES, you owe it to yourself. "It's A Terminated Life" is the
climax
of a very demented book.

There's a Plot? Holy smoke and mirrors batman! Actually this was faked in front
of a live Studio Audience using characters similar enough to pull it off. You

Yay ^^

He is in my text above "You want me to wear only the flamenco shirt and shake

> Suffice it to
>say... well, imagine Utena rolling down the stairs in Scenes From An Elevator.

Gotcha

>Except with Akio. And he goes over[SPOILER], after being pushed by[SPOILER].
>^^;

Oh doesn't matter if you spoil me: 2 Reasons 1) I am intrigued by spoilers
99.997% of the time. 2) I'll never read SoTS ^^

I refer to the fan who's a writer optional life path corollary:

"If I can be reading fanfic... I can be writing my own." It's evil... and selfish
and what have you. BUT I'd rather not accidentally or intentionally take someone
else's idea. Hell if I hadn't already done part of the DND in VR segment of the
Arc before I saw .hack//sign... I'd have never touched it. As it stands I don't
feel I should go back and fill in the parts I skipped now that I've SEEN
.hack//sign

Far to similar here and there... and dissimilar here and there... but when people
wanna cry "Thief Baggins what stole our precious!" the dissimilar bits tend to
get ignored ^^;

Bad enough if I wanted to have it stand totally on it's own - Well I'd first have
to hire a descriptionist - it would DOUBLE in size. that's with adding in enough
to drift chara design and attitude enough to have them as they are... without the
"Based on a little of this char... with a bit of this one... hair like this
character here..." bull.

And I've gone off on a tangent. -.-;;;

Soviets and alcohol? What'll they think of next? ^.~ I've always been a fan of
surrealism, Dali was my favorite painter. If the anime has a weird look to it,
like SKU, Eva, FLCL, Key the Metal Idol, then I'm there, dude.

This was actually written by a Russian, but I was never interested enough to
find out whether it was that incoherent in the original language or whether
the translator had suffered a nervous breakdown.

*nods* Dali is good. I have the 2003 Dali calendar up in my cube now,
in fact. This month's picture is "Six Apparitions of Lenin on a Grand
Piano".

It might almost have been better of the story if he had, but it works out
well even without that touch of - additional - madness.

I love that painting. Ever see the portrait of Lenin with the really big

"The Enigma of William Tell", yes. You must have the same calendar I do.

Nope, it's in my books. That painting almost got him kicked out of the
Surrealist Group, which at that time was being run by hardcore Communard Andre
Breton... He was an odd fellow, not so much an artist as he was an ideologue
who organized the real artists in the movement...

Heheh. Actually, Breton tried to rip up "The Enigma of William Tell" with his
cane when Dali put it on display... Fortunately the Spaniard had hung it high
up on the wall out of reach. ^^
